Chapter 25

Pip is at the Pockets home. It’s early in the morning and everyone is bustling around and getting ready. Pip passes by Drummle in the hallway.

Pip: Hello Mr. Drummle. How are you this day?

Drummle: (sulkily) Fine. I suppose. On your way Mr. Pip.

Pip continues on and runs into Startop.

Pip: Hello Startop. How are you?

Startop: Exceedingly well. I was just downstairs talking Camilla and Georgiana, Mr. Pocket’s sister and cousin.

Pip: Oh. Well I’ll go meet them. I haven’t seen them for years.

Pip goes downstairs and walks up to Camilla and Georgiana. Both look dissatisfied at his appearance.

Pip: Hello Georgiana, Camilla.

Georgina: (annoyed) Oh. It’s you. I forgot you lived here. Would you mind getting us some tea?

Pip: Not at all.

Pip goes to the kitchen while Georgiana and Camilla began to talk to eadch other.

Camilla: I hate that little man. How come he’s been destined for great expectations?

Georgiana: I know! Little brat. If only we were that lucky. Hope he’s run over by a carriage.

Pip returns with their tea and accoutrements.

Pip: Well I must be off to London. I have to see Mr. Jaggers.

Pip leaves and heads towards London. [Cut scene] Pip enters Mr. Jaggers’s office and greets Wemmick.

Pip: Hello Wemmick.

Wemmick: Hello Pip. Oh, I wanted to ask you if you would like to have dinner at my house tonight. We’re having stewed steak and chicken. You don’t mind dining with an elderly fellow? My aged father lives with me.

Pip: Not at all! I would enjoy meeting your father.

Wemmick: Good. See you tonight.

Pip sows up with Wemmick at Wemmick’s home. The house is made to look like a castle with a small 4 foot moat surrounding it. On the “battlements” is a small cannon with ammunition.

Wemmick: Welcome to the Castle. I built the fortifications myself. Every night at 9 o’clock I fire the cannonade or the Stinger as we call it. In the back is a garden and a small stock of animals. It’s a veritable fortress.

Wemmick and Pip cross the small drawbridge and goes to the back where a bowl of punch and refreshments is already laid out. They treat themselves to the drinks. A mall old man comes out from the Castle and stands by Wemmick.

Wemmick: Pip let me introduce my father, The Aged.

Aged: Nice to meet you.

Pip: Likewise.

Wemmick: It’s almost time for the Stinger to be fired.

The Aged runs to the cannon and loads it. He then strikes a match and lights the fuse. The cannon explodes.

Aged: Yeah! What a sight to see.

Wemmick: I believe it’s time to retire. Pip you can have the residence in the turret near the flagpole. See you tomorrow.

Pip leaves the festivities and retires for the night. pip awakens the next morning and meets Wemmick near the door.

Wemmick: Before we leave for London I have one lesson I would like to teach you. It is this: you must lead two lives: a life at home and a life at work. They must always be separate and may never cross.

They depart for London.

Chapter 6

Joe with Pip on his back and Mr. Wopsle are walking back from the Hulk on a misty and damp night. Mr. Wopsle looks in particularly wet from sitting down at every opportunity. Pip’s small house can be seen in the foreground and the small village is dark except for the lights from a few houses.

Pip: (voiceover) Although the convict’s confession exonerated me for my part in the crime my mind was not at rest. As Joe carried me back that night I couldn’t get the image of Joe’s disappointment in me, if I were to tell him of my dishonesty. From that point on he would suspect me if any crime had been committed and also wondering what mischievous deeds I was up to.

Uncle Pumblechook, Mrs. Joe and the Hubbles are all crowded around the door awaiting Pip and company’s return. Joe opens the door carrying Pip on his back and deposits him on the ground. Mr. Wopsle follows in and takes his station near the fire.

Joe: You won’t believe it. We had just captured the ruffian and as we questioned him he brought up a theft he had committed in the early hours of the morning. And would you believe it, it was us he stole from. Took a pork pie, some brandy and other vittles. How in the world do you think he managed that?

Uncle Pumblechook: (deep reserved tone) Hmm . . .

Uncle Pumblechook walks stoically around and examines the pantry, door, and roof.

Uncle Pumblechook: I’ve got it! The ruffian climbed atop the forge roof, made his way to the house roof and then, using a rope of cut up bed sheets climbed down through the kitchen chimney.

All agree to Pumblechook’s summation and add their compliment to his deductive skills.

Pip: My, my, what an exciting night, well, I’m off to bed. Goodnight.

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Egypt_building_stub.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:03, 19 April 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 19:03, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Needed help to build a new portal on FAO

[edit]

Dear Yorktwon1776,

I have seen in the UN Portal that you are one of the ones who contributed to build it. I've been given the mandate to see if it would be possible to build a Portal for FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) to enhace its presence in Wikipedia. Would you have some advice on how to proceed? I have read all the instructions, but having someone who has already contribute to do something similar it will help a lot.

Or if you may have some name to whom I should contact, that would be great too.

Thanks for any advice you may give.

Hi Yorktown1776, I've filed this upload for deletion as it appears to be redundant to File:Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum.jpg. The discussion is here. Regards, AFBorchert (talk) 06:13, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
