Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Yogini Asha. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. GermanJoe (talk) 09:41, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

March 2019

[edit]

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. GermanJoe (talk) 09:49, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • To be clear: promotional activities include namedropping the yogi into every caption (this adds nothing to an encyclopedic understanding of the pose) and adding redundant images without unique encyclopedic value. GermanJoe (talk) 10:06, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you use Wikipedia for promotion or advertising, as you did at Bakasana. GermanJoe (talk) 09:41, 20 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

About Changing Bakasana Picture

[edit]

Bakasana with straight arm is not a right posture that's why I'm change that Image, and I'm not advertising anyone, I just to want to add some correct yoga poses photos that's it. Thank you for your valuable words. Yogini Asha (talk) 00:35, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, please raise content-related questions about Bakasana on the article's associated talkpage (in this case Talk:Bakasana), providing some reliable source for this information. Generally, the best place to raise any article-related content issues (including image usage) is the article talkpage. If you have any other general Wikipedia-related questions or need advice, please feel free to post at WP:Teahouse (a forum for new editors). If you want to notify another user about a new message, you can "ping" this user (see link for more info). Hope these tips are helpful. GermanJoe (talk) 12:52, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for discussing on the article's talk page, I have replied there. Basically, there is irrefutable evidence from the presence of BOTH asanas in text and illustrations in the 19th century Sritattvanidhi. Please reply on the article's talk page if you feel there's anything further to discuss. Chiswick Chap (talk) 09:27, 24 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
