[edit]You say you're not a sockpuppet? Sorry, I don't believe you. Guy (Help!) 00:03, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Request reason:
I'm honestly at a loss. I just asked on WP:ANI that a page get unblocked and then I protested when I was accused of being a "sock." This really isn't fair and it's not right to treat someone like this. I haven't done anything wrong, I just protested on ANI.
Decline reason:
Let me get this straight: A supposed newcomer finds a page protected due to extraordinary vandalism, finds the page protection policy, and somehow finds AN/I to try to have it unprotected through Wikilawyering? Quite remarkable for a new user. I'm with Guy on this one. —Travistalk 00:27, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
(ec) If you are genuinely uninvolved, (which I do not believe), then I apologize, but you should know that you are blocked because your edit patterns resemble those of a very persistent vandal who has been causing problems as recent as just a week or less ago. For a person to become familiar with policies, and post to ANI within an hour of creating an account trying to have a constantly problematic page unprotected, it is simply beyond any reasonable doubt. This is why we have the WP:DUCK test, which you fail, horribly. Please try to find something else to do with your time, rather than waste ours. Templarion (talk) 00:31, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Request reason:
Um..nowhere did I say I was a newcomer. I am actually quite Wikiknowledgable and I have never ever denied that. I am a longtime observer of Wikipedia but a first time poster. There should be some sort of due process. Blocking someone solely based on assumptions or "likelyhoods" is so incredibly wrong. I did not in any way violate WP policies. I merely tried to defend myself against false assumptions and now I feel that I am being libeled. I know there is a checkuser mechanism to check someone's affiliations. I request that you use this so I can prove I have no connection to this "sock." I accept your apology if it is sincere. I ask you to please ublock me so I can continue the conversation with you.
Decline reason:
This looks like a sound application of the duck test by Guy. This edit in particular is remarkably similar to earlier contributions from this blocked editor. Since there is so little doubt about this, a request for Checkuser is not necessary. If there has been a monumental error of judgment on the part of every admin to look at this case, and you really are an uninvolved editor who just happened to stumble upon this page and familiarise themselves with its now-deleted Talk page history and who does want to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, I can only apologise, note that you have been singularly unfortunate in selecting as your first task the editing of an article targetted by such a persistent sock-puppetting vandal, and suggest that you find some less contentious article to edit with your next account. — SHEFFIELDSTEELTALK 01:03, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

I'd like to add something about how Pioneer Courthouse Square has been a center of "Rip City" as the Blazers have gotten better. There have been numerous gatherings there as the team has improved. Link to this: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/06/29/AR2007062902121.html
In any event, I think it's really unfair that I've been treated like this. I have not done any vandalism at all." I've protested on ANI and I am automatically blocked?! Seems really unfair and like someone is making unfair assumptions.
