Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, you may not know that Wikipedia has a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Using different styles throughout the encyclopedia, as you did in Steven Bellamy, makes it harder to read. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. In accordance with Wikipedia formatting, unless necessary it is no longer appropriate to link dates. Thanks. Perspeculum (talk) 18:09, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

December 2010

[edit]

This is your only warning. If you violate Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy by inserting unsourced defamatory content into an article or any other Wikipedia page again, as you did at Steven Bellamy, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Scott Mac 19:04, 11 December 2010 (UTC) Why are you doing this? The article has been vetted by Steven Bellamy and is not intended as defamatory. I have material that supports the section. Calm down and explain to me what needs to be done to include the section.[reply]

You need to be able to provide reliable third-party sources. See WP:RS and also WP:BLP.--Scott Mac 19:59, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. The verdict of the Chiba district court was published for several years after the case. I am not sure if that is available on the web (it's an old case) - Please guide me as to how to follow up on this matter.
Ok here is a third party link referencing the 2006 Mock Trial of Bellamy (under the name of pseudonym of Paul Lennon (Beatles) http://www.debito.org/?p=83 / The original Yahoo news article has been archived and removed.
Please do take a look at WP:RS - I'm afraid blogs and bulletin boards don't count. A newspaper story etc us probably the best bet.--Scott Mac 20:29, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Give me an alternative to newspapers / this case was in 1981 and I can't find anything online even at the Japan newspaper sites (who puts 30 year ld articles online) and the mock trial was in 2006. I got a weblink for the mock trial as above but it's expired. Do I have to get a waiver from Steve Bellamy himself. I could write to him but he's not always in Japan. Again I'm trying to be reasonable here. Ynambu (talk)
Sorry, if reliable sources can't be found then the material can't be included. Wikipedia needs all information, and particularly on a living person, to be verifiable in a way that any reader can check the source (either online, or in a good library). A communication from the subject will not suffice, as wikipedia doesn't allow investigative journalism or "reporting". All we do is compile information already published in reliable (and accessible) sources. It may well be that's this is something that may be true, but not verifiably true, and thus must be excluded. If you can't find a dependable source, I'm afraid that's the end of the line.--Scott Mac 21:13, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'll try again for published material. If not then I may have to reluctantly go to arbitration as I feel I'm doing all this in good faith but not getting sufficient guidance. I am sure there are other options and I am willing to try them if I knew what they are. This situation can hardly be unique. Help me out here.
I'm sorry, I can't. If you want the material included, you need to find the source. Arbitration will not help you either, since I'm only telling you what Wikipedia's policy is.--Scott Mac 21:39, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This intractable, uncompromising, bullying attitude by 'self appointed' editors has now driven away so many willing contributors. I will try to get the references but if not I will just give up and like the others just leave. You started out by immediately threatening to block me and have at no point shown any cooperation or willingness to help. What qualifications do you hold to threaten me in this way?
I didn't threaten, I warned. It is incredibly important that we don't have people adding stuff about living people unless we can verify that it is true. If we're not vigilant here, all sorts of libels and lies could get into the encyclopedia. That's why we remove all negative information immediately and warn people inserting it, that they must not do it. I'm sorry I can't help you find a source, I genuinely don't know any thing about the subject of the article, and I would not know where to start looking.--Scott Mac 03:18, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have some references which i will put up after the New year holiday. It has taken me a lot of time to do this and I expect that you (or others) will stop these threats of blocking (such as beginning with THIS IS YOUR ONLY WARNING to willing contributors like myself. I have also send note of this matter and it's thread to the subject of the article. Steve Bellamy.
I'm getting so tired of these constant deletions and threats. Like many before me I'm near to quitting. This is not what Wikipedia was supposed to be.

File source problem with File:Hojo2.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Hojo2.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:30, 16 February 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (talk) 21:30, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:Sbwinner.jpg listed for deletion

[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Sbwinner.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. The photograph was given to me by Steve Bellamy and made into the public domain. It is the only photograph from an important competition between Great Britain and the then World Champions France on the occasion of the 'Fanfare for Europe' Great Britain's entry into the European Community. The photograph should remain. Ynambu (talk)
