Ras Maska
[edit]Thank you very much for putting the information up about Ras Maska, Lebanon. My Father was born in this village but he doesn't know anything about it since he was so young when he left.

- Do you have any pictures of Ras Maska? I would love to see them, like any other photo from the beautiful north. Thanks.

Kadisha Valley article
[edit]I would like to express my regret for using the word "mythological" in regards to certain aspects of the Kadisha Valley article. The word was used in regards to a couple of phrases that, to me, seemed to not be sufficiently explained so that a reader unfamiliar with North Lebanon (myself) could understand them.
That having been said, I would like to work on revising the article, but I think this would be best done as a collaborative effort, seeing as my lack of knowledge of the subject area is not an asset to me in this case. I think that some reorganizing of the article and a bit more explanation of certain aspects would be very beneficial to someone who stumbles upon it, as I did. Could we possibly work on this together? Jhml (talk) 20:39, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- Please find on my user page (Jhml) a restructuring of the Kadisha Valley article. Note: I'm not saying the article has to be this way, I'm just proposing what I think is a very readable and understandable layout, which is certainly open for discussion. That's why I put it on my user page, and haven't changed the actual page yet. Usually when I make a massive restructuring of an article, there is no one who cares enough about the article to say anything about it one way or another.
- Please consider this a bit of "good faith" work. Thanks, Jhml (talk) 21:25, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, I just went ahead and reorganized the Kadisha Valley article, being careful to include the modifications Elie Plus had made earlier today. All information is still there, I just think it flows more naturally, especially for someone reading about it for the first time. Jhml (talk) 19:18, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- hey... I already told Jhml that his edit turned the focus off important subjects >> comments ... what do you think? Elie plus (talk) 20:36, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Re: Youssef Karam
[edit]Hi Yellaban, thanks for your kind words. Please see the comments I've made on the article talk page. ← George [talk] 09:08, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Hello, thanks for posting to my talk page. I will be happy to review the article. I will also try and help out and get the article to GA and do some copy/tone/stylistic editing. Let me know and also feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Lazulilasher (talk) 14:49, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- HI, I've done some copyedits to the Kfarsghab article. I will return and do more later. For now, I must sleep :) Lazulilasher (talk) 04:45, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
Oops I wasn't aware it was up for GA. I thought it was a great article but the history section was a little too long in comparison. It will need cutting down a fair bit. I'm very busy at the moment, I;ve just been adding infoboxes to all the Lebanese districts and creating new templates ready for developing at Wikipedia:WikiProject Lebanon/District templates. See my discussion with User:George. What I would recommend it to copy it back again (but leave the new page) and then begin working at condensing a summarised version for the main article. As you do so, I will make sure I give you a hand and help you copy edit it for a GA. Good work, it jjust goes to show what can be written about villages in places like this. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 17:27, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
If you want to develop it to GA, then I can do a great deal to put it on its way and make suggestions when I have a moment. The main initial objections would be that it lacks conciseness, needs a major copyedit and there is a lack of citations. Once the history summary is done I can then make some pointers on how to improve it. Good work ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 17:31, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
I've added citations tags for area initially that you need to reference. Once the sources of your article is more clearer and is verifiable I can then begin to help you copy edit it thoroughly. Part of the problem is that the article seems to be discussing two different villages which appear to be seperate villages but form together under that name within a given area. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 17:39, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Ahmad Faris Shidyaq
[edit]Hello. I am Wikipedia editor, and I've recently been researching the life of the English writer John Lodwick. He was the second husband of Sheila Legge, mentioned in note 2 of the above article. I actually found the Ahmad Faris Shidyaq article by chance, while hunting for information about Sheila Legge. The information is very interesting: is it based on anything published, or just personal knowledge? Grateful for any assistance.KD Tries Again (talk) 15:25, 8 January 2009 (UTC)KD Tries Again

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite
[edit]Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 05:02, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

Editing with a possible conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Yellaban. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.--SamHolt6 (talk) 21:10, 23 August 2019 (UTC)

- Sorry @Yellaban: but the inquest above should be answered as soon as possible. SamHolt6 (talk) 11:59, 24 August 2019 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Chocolala ICA Winner 2015.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Chocolala ICA Winner 2015.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
