A tag has been placed on Yasmen AlMeQdamy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.  Velella  Velella Talk   00:08, 6 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have deleted the article for three reasons:
  1. It did not make any credible claim of significance. The English Wikipedia has articles on notable topics only. It does not matter if the Arabic Wikipedia has an article about you. We have different, and rigorous, standards here.
  2. It did not provide any evidence of notability, defined as significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of you.
  3. It did not appear to meet any of the inclusion criteria defined in Wikipedia:Notability (people).
Please be aware that autobiographies are strongly discouraged here. See the section below. If you feel you must write about yourself, do it in your sandbox or in draft space, and submit your article for review via Wikipedia:Articles for creation. That is the only viable way for someone with a conflict of interest to get an article about themselves published on the English Wikipedia. ~Anachronist (talk) 00:40, 6 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Don't write about yourself on the English Wikipedia

[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but it appears you have written or added to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. ~Anachronist (talk) 00:40, 6 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
