You saw it on TV
[edit]Watching a promo on TV does consist of a source. Please see WP:OR. You need a source stating whatever content you're adding. On top of that, per WP:BURDEN, you have to state the source upon addition. Please do not restore the content. On top of that, it fails WP:NOTDIR. Per that article, Wikipedia is NOT a TV guide or broadcast. Thank you, Callmemirela {Talk} ♑ 20:23, 8 August 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to Hungama TV, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at the welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Please do not add or change content, as you did at Hungama TV, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Yamaguchi先生 15:58, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Yash Sen, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your addition to Hungama TV has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Callmemirela 🍁 {Talk} ♑ 17:59, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Callmemirela:But in other TV channel articles like Cartoon Network (India), Pogo (TV channel), Disney Channel (India), etc. also has their programming information. Then why are you not letting the programming info about Hungama TV be in Hungama TV article??? Yash Sen (talk) 18:30, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- I have explained in it in my message above. Per WP:NOTADIR, users from India have added WP:UNSOURCED changes and times and dates. Wikipedia is NOT a TV guide or broadcast. No sources were given. Per WP:BURDEN, you have to cite any claims that is related to the future and so on. Please do not restore the content on the page as you did before because it is a) copy-pasted from websites and b) it's unsourced. Callmemirela 🍁 {Talk} ♑ 18:38, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of List of programs broadcast by Hungama TV
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on List of programs broadcast by Hungama TV requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.photoclass.kr/enwiki/index.php?title=Hungama_TV. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - @Callmemirela: First of all tell me that from which site is all those info copied??? Secondly, I didn't find any such info in any other site. And if you think that it is copied from any other site then you should be able to tell me that site name and also the link from where it is copied. And then, why Seeing on TV is not a reliable source? Now in Wikipedia is users are also not trusted??? If you really think that all those info are unsourced or violates Copyrights then you should be able to give the answers to all the above questions!!! Yash Sen (talk) 07:49, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
- I don't know why you're blaming this all on me when you are the one violating policies. The article was mostly copy-pasted from here. I don't care if there are no other sources available for this channel. You HAVE to source EVERYTHING or else it's UNSOURCED. Is that clear? Secondly, regarding about seeing it on TV, I have regarded that issue before. Please see orginal research. This goes back to what I was saying: You have to source everything. Callmemirela 🍁 {Talk} ♑ 12:34, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Callmemirela: So I provided the source link at the bottom of that page. And then, why in Bulbapedia Watching on TV is a reliable source? And I provided the source link at the bottom of that page which is this. Yash Sen (talk) 13:05, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
- This is Wikipedia, not a fansite. I have regarded this before and more times. Watching it on TV is NOT a source, it's original research and therefore UNSOURCED. Is that clear? You article was copy-pasted, which was enough to delete it. Write it in your words. Okay? Callmemirela 🍁 {Talk} ♑ 13:18, 29 August 2015 (UTC)

Pokemon XY
[edit]Please do not move the XY pages from their current generic designations of Part 1 and Part 2. We are waiting to see what the official North American distributor, Viz Media, will call Part 2 before deciding on further renaming actions. Current renaming edits will risk breaking page redirects. Thank you for your patience. —KirtMessage 13:08, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
- @KirtZJ: Season 18 is known as Pokemon XY Kalos Quest because it was later named so by the iTunes release. Source! Yash Sen (talk) 17:56, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
- This was already discussed. iTunes is not applicable here because they are not the official distributor, merely a retailer. Viz Media is the official distributor of Pokemon in North America as I have already stated. Until they make a release containing Part 2 episodes after this one only then will we be able to settle on a name. Basically, like everyone else before you who have made this edit, you just have to be patient. —KirtMessage 19:11, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
- @KirtZJ: Someone, whether it's TPCi or DuArt or CN or Viz is irrelevant, had to give the episode footage to iTunes and give it a name. iTunes is merely a "store" at which one of those companies is distributing their goods. In any case, the official Pokémon site has since used the name. --Yash Sen (talk) 05:51, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
- The Wikipedia seasons have all been using Viz Media's DVD titles since the very beginning. I'm not here to debate with you the difference between a distributor/retailer (store)/press release. I'm kindly asking you to wait until the next DVD release as was already debated at length here and here. I won't be replying further. —KirtMessage 04:10, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
