@Naypta: Okay, I added the missing countries from the main table, so the ones listed should be the correct ones now. I don't know of any easy way to fetch the Wikidata items for them, but there aren't all that many of them. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 21:59, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Sdkb:  Done - I've manually gone through and (after about 45 minutes of searching) identified Wikidata entities for the vast majority of the countries' outbreaks. Naypta, thanks for helping with the heavy lifting. For the remaining three, the Wikidata items are [10] [11] [12] (the items were incomplete, but I just added to them). There also seem to be infinite cases in the U.S. Virgin Islands... But on the whole, it looks like we're close to being ready to launch. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 00:03, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Naypta, nice! For the references, I think it would look a little cleaner to have a ref column, as with the non-per capita table; I see we can adjust that at this page. For other touch-ups, for the countries unfortunate enough to have over 10,000 cases per million, we should add the comma. And I'm waiting for a custom parameter request at Template:Flag to hopefully go through so that we can link to COVID-19 pandemic in X Country instead of X Country at the left. None of these are significant enough to require delaying implementation, though, so feel free to deploy it if you think it's ready. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 20:29, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You're far more familiar with the pages this is going to go on, though, so I think the call to actually implement it or not should probably be yours - I'm not familiar with what the local consensuses are on updating this data where it lives on pages. Naypta, I switched the references to be on a single line and copied the current version to {{COVID-19 pandemic data/Per capita}}, so it's live at COVID-19 pandemic by country and territory. The next step is getting it to COVID-19 pandemic, but I doubt folks will want two tables there, so we'll need to use a switcher of some sort. I can't figure out how to get the radio buttons integrated into the template itself, though, so the best I can do is this:

@Sdkb: Hrm. There's no styling options on the individual labels, so for now, the best that can be done is something like this, where the switcher is off to the right. I've put in a message at MediaWiki talk:Gadget-switcher.js to ask if it would be possible to add styles to the labels, though. Naypta, thanks for putting in the gadget comment! Regarding updating, will transcluding it to {{COVID-19 pandemic data/Per capita}} increase the post-expand include size compared to having the bot update that page directly? Many of the pages where we'll want this are running up against the limit. @Sdkb: Good question; I'm honestly not sure. It'd be trivial from my perspective to get the bot to update the page in template space; the only problem with doing so is that that would require a BRFA to be filed. My original BRFA for Yapperbot is still pending approval a couple of weeks after finishing its trial run, and task 2 only finished its trial run on Sunday, so it may not be looked on favourably to put in yet another task - and even were it to be, it would likely not be approved for some time based on the way that things are looking at the moment (failing a speedy approval). Not that anyone's to blame for that - I'm sure BAG members are busy with other things, I'm in no way trying to suggest that they're neglecting their responsibilities - just something to bear in mind. @Sdkb: Yes, transcluding it into {{COVID-19 pandemic data/Per capita}} doubles the post-expand include size. I fixed COVID-19 pandemic by country and territory earlier today by directly transcluding this template, but long term having the bot write to template space would be a better solution. --Ahecht (TALK

@Sdkb: When I designed the switcher, I intentionally didn't allow removing the "Show all" button. It's important that the page looks reasonable when "Show all" is chosen, since not all users will run the switcher gadget, and the "Show all" view is what anyone without it will see, as well as what everyone sees while the page is still loading. Calculation of Worldwide rates

The template is calculating the Woldwide rates incorrectly. I suspect the issue is in the denominator of the fomula which currectly is {{formatnum:{{wikidata|property|normal+|Q2|P1082}}|R}} , however, I don't know how wikidata works, so I can't fix it myself.
