Speedy deletion nomination of Delcan

[edit]

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Delcan, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 132.3.33.68 (talk) 19:14, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Take the advice you've been given

[edit]

When you contacted Kuyabribri regarding the deletion nomination of your Delcan article, that user provided you with some valuable advice on how to improve the article. When you created Delcan Corporation, you appear to have completely ignored all such advice. Why ask for advice if you're intent on ignoring it? Thank you for the response. I am very sorry, I had not seen the suggestions by by Kuyabribri. I will definitly take all of that into account. Sorry for the hassel.

Re: Delcan

[edit]

Yes. Well there were many problems with the most recent revision: the article mostly read as a webpage for the company not an encyclopedic article because of it's list use instead of prose. Also the sections such as "Markets & Services", "Locations" (the addition of this also lead to the articles G11 deletion as this is content only suitable for a webpage). The "History" and "Projects" sections will need to be written in prose that adhere to wikipedia's policy on neutral point of view and must be free of peacock terms (such terms are another reason why articles, such as yours, get deleted under g11). Citing the company website and wikipedia are not sources which constitute as third party, independent, reliable sources and such reliable sources are essential when backing up claims of notability. I suggest you read corporation articles such as the ones on Microsoft, BAE Systems and London Necropolis Company so you can get an idea of how a corporation article is to be written. Also if you need step by step guidance on article writing (it's your first so I would recommend it) you could use Article wizard. Many thanks. AngelOfSadness talk 22:35, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
