Awards are about the most superficial, useless, time-consuming, pieces of (expletive deleted) in Wikipedia. But boy do they make people feel good. So keep it up! K-UNIT 22:41, 10 September 2006 (UTC) |
Thanks for the 1-up, if only we could all really get an extra life... K-UNIT 22:41, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
Thanks...
[edit]Sorry I stepped on your edit there, I had changed so much stuff I couldn't just drop it, but when I went back to re-add yours I couldn't find the problem again. Anyway, thanks for the fix. Here's to hoping they turn spell checking back on in Firefox 2. Maury 01:28, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
Thanks

Approved for AWB!
[edit]Thank you for your recent application to use AutoWikiBrowser. I have approved your request and you should now be able to use the AWB application. Be sure to check every edit before you save it, and don't forget to check out the AWB Guide. You can get any help you need over on the AWB talk page. Feel free to contact me with any questions, Alphachimp 20:13, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Hey, I noticed you beating me to a few reverts while I was using VandalProof. You don't seem to be using any tools, so I thought I'd give you some. VP is good, but Lupin's anti-vandal tool is excellent. Since you're working with us, we might as well make you more effective and efficient, eh? Oh, and here's a gift for you too.

Uploading Images
[edit]Hi Xiong Chiamiov, if I new of me here publishes, then I will store this under {{GFDL-self}}. Is this by self-produced photos in right matter? I'm learning English by doing, here on Wikipedia. The german administrators are angry, but you are kind! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nadia Kittel (talk • contribs) 16 December 2006.
- Hi! Unfortunately, I'm not sure I completely understand your question. If you create a picture that you wish to share with us (and it is fit for usage in an encyclopedia), then you would use that license, yes. Just remember that doing so will release any claim on that picture that you have. Oh, and just two things: first, always remember to sign your messages like this ~~~~. Also, you should put the {{helpme}} tag on your own talk page, right here. If you have any more questions, or I didn't really answer your first question, be sure to ask me. I'm glad you're here! Xiong Chiamiov :: contact :: 21:23, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hi dear Xiong Chiamiov,
- I mean that when I upload any one image for free that I may it do by ::{{GFDL-self}} or {{PD-self}}?
- Do you understand?
- Many thanks,
- Kay
- I'm not an expert on copyrights, but I believe you could use either. I think I would use pd not gfdl, but I'm not sure completely what the difference is. Xiong Chiamiov :: contact :: 21:42, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hello dear Chiamiov,
- I've understand.
- the fotos of me was altered for public domain (PD-self) now.
- Thanks dear Chiamiov,
- Kay (User:Nadia Kittel)

[edit]Hi! I'm from BraSil and my english is kinda bad, LOL... But, uh... I'm here 'cause I want your help! I'm posting some pics in some articles, and this pics are from sites (like artists ones and pokémon ones); I'd like to know how do I certify them as legal and clean, 'cause they are free use and original... For example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:T.A.T.u_In_Prado_Cafe_051.jpg This one I posted was from a fan site!!!! An another example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:460_Yukinooh.png This one is from another fan site, it's oficial and free use, how do I put a license on it? Sorry for the poor english, thanks =))))
- It seems you need to go here and choose license tags for all of your images. Unfortunately, not everything available from web sites is usable on Wikipedia, because they often retain copyright. If you have any more questions, I'd be glad to help. Xiong Chiamiov :: contact :: 21:45, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- Awwww, thanks, dude =D
- I guess I got it... I'm gonna find out the proper licence for my pics now.
- Thanks, you're so sweet =*
- Well, I do my best to help. We have enough grouchy people in the world. Xiong Chiamiov :: contact :: 21:54, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, you're so right =/
- I don't wanna abuse your kindness, but I have another question! :$
- It's just that I'm too lost in looking for the correct tag for the pics I've uploaded... Could you help me?
- I mean, for the image of an artist I found on a website, what could I use?
- And what about a pokémon image?
- Thanks again, and sorry for being so dumb. >.>
- Did you find the image on the artist's web site, or someone else's? Xiong Chiamiov :: contact :: 22:04, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- I found it at the brazilian official fansite!
- And about the pokémon, I found it at a fansite, but it's taken from the oficial Pokémon japanese site!!! :)
- Well, Pokemon have their own tag ({{Pokeimage}}), as shown by [[Image:Pokemon_logo.jpg]]. For the other, you probably want something from this section, the any-purpose copyrights. Xiong Chiamiov :: contact :: 22:22, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwm <3
- Thanks [b]SOOOOOOOOOO[/b] much, you're such a sweetie, you saved my life :)
- Thx thx thx thx thx thx!!!!!! =D
- See ya, if I need some help another day I'll look for you, you're incredibly a good-hearted person
- Thanks again and again, :**** —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lunaloka (talk • contribs).

[edit]I appreciate your "welcome," but I've been writing for Wikipedia for more than two years! If you look at my home page you'll see a long list of the articles I've created and to which I've contributed. SFTVLGUY2 16:03, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- So sorry. I wasn't really looking at your user page, just your talk page. You don't have much there, and no archives, so... My mistake. Have a good day! Xiong Chiamiov :: contact :: 00:36, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Photo
[edit]I have permission for my photo so please do not touch it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ironwolf285 (talk • contribs).
- I believe you misread. This welcome is all that I posted for you. The image notices are from Orphanbot, as shown by its signature after the messages. However, if you have permission for your images, then you should add a license tag, or they will be deleted. You can find license tags at Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags. If you need any help finding the specific tag you need, be sure to drop me a line. I'm here to help! Xiong Chiamiov :: contact :: 23:16, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
Help
[edit]Please help me bring back the nice article I wrote for the RIC Environmental Club - a notable club that has helped the State of Rhode Island since November of this year. We are always growing and I know it is notable in the State of Rhode Island even though it is a new club. Please read my objections to it being deleted and tell me what you think.
Ironwolf285 18:59, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm, well let's see. First, I'd like to thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always need more help writing articles.
- Googling "RIC Environmental Club" [1] brings up 3 websites, two of which are Wikipedia and your MySpace. Speaking of which, having your web site be a MySpace doesn't help at all. If you need a good free webhost, I'd recommend atspace.com and their sister site awardspace.com. If you need someone to design it, I can help with that. For a fee, of course. But that's business, and not what we're talking about.
- I would suggest two courses of action:
- If you really think that your club will grow enough that it will be known (and yes, I don't believe it is notable, and I have heard of Rhode Island :) ), then I would put it in your user space (say, User:Ironwolf285/RIC_Enviro) and edit it there. Once you are notable enough, you can take that page and put it back in Wikipedia mainspace. However, I would recommend the other option I see:
- Make a section in Rhode Island College (perhaps a subsection under Campus Life) specifically for your club. Leave in only 1 picture at most. If you do this, you won't lose the information (because Rhode Island College is notable), you'll increase the value of the RIC article, and you'll get more people to hear about your club, since it will be a part of the main college article.
- Anyway, that's just my suggestion. If you have any questions about what I've said, just leave me a message. Have a great day! Xiong Chiamiov :: contact :: 23:46, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
You said on the talk page that you were having sig problems with the template. Try adding a space after the template: {{subst:Template0L1|Example|Example}} ~~~~—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 0L1 (talk • contribs).
- Yes, I was having problems, but if you look at the rest of what I said, I fixed it. It was a problem with spacing somewhere else, not where I put my ~'s. Oh yes, and you don't need the 2nd variable in there any more (eg. {{subst:Template0L1|Example|Example}} ~~~~). I changed it so the page name is automatic. I like this template the most so far, btw. Cheers. Xiong Chiamiov :: contact :: 01:33, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
