[edit]Regarding City Infoboxes
[edit]Ive noticed that you have edited the Denver and NYC Article photo montages. Not only is this inconsistent with other city infoboxes, BUT its also pretty messy. Can you please let me know why you are doing this? Thanks.
WeaponizingArchitecture | scream at me 18:38, 25 November 2022 (UTC)
- @WeaponizingArchitecture:: The main rationale for the change is to put the captions closest to the images and there is no more need to try to connect the two together. Thus, this greatly reduces the time for reading and comprehension. I have put up a discussion about this in the New York City talk page. It receives general positive feedbacks. You're welcome to add your own opinions there. The problem of inconsistency is because I tried to delay the edits to get some feedback before rolling out to all similar pages. Xeror (talk) 07:05, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- The issue with that in my opinion is that it clutters the image montage, to where it sort of takes away from the images themselves in a way. Im going to read through the talk page though, thanks for letting me link that. WeaponizingArchitecture | scream at me 07:20, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- @WeaponizingArchitecture: Can you elaborate the cluttering issue more, possibly on the talk page? Do you mean that the captions interrupt the images? To me, it seems to be the opposite, the captions separate the images so they stand out better from each other. Xeror (talk) 08:44, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- The captions in my opinion look like say, 5 or 6 of these cluttered all over an infobox. (image is just a random example i found). Would it be a good idea in your opinion to ask one of the WikiProjects about this stuff? WeaponizingArchitecture | scream at me 15:01, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- @WeaponizingArchitecture: It would be like this image if the images are not rectangular and aligned, at least it does not seem like this way. However, it may seem to be busy for the New York City infobox simply because of the number of images. I think reducing the number of images would solve that but I did not decide the images and the number of them. The reason to avoid cluttering is to improve the readability and in this case the new layout does just that. It would be a good idea if there is an appropriate WikiProject for exactly this. Do you have any in mind and link to it? Xeror (talk) 22:59, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- WikiProject Cities is probably the best bet for this stuff. WeaponizingArchitecture | scream at me 03:04, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- @WeaponizingArchitecture: I don't know how it works but it would be best to copy or link to the thread on the New York City talk page on this. Would you be able to start one on the WikiProject Cities? Xeror (talk) 02:39, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
- i posted it here. WeaponizingArchitecture | scream at me 13:08, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

Image sizes
[edit]Please stop changing images sizes on articles. Please note that "As a general rule, images should not be set to a larger fixed width than 220px", per MOS:IMAGES. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 21:37, 27 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Magnolia677: The rule is specifically for fixed width, which means that a px value is specified. Using
|upright=
is not bounded by the rule. In addition, I changed the fixed width to upright as per the rules. Xeror (talk) 22:47, 27 April 2023 (UTC)- Please stop. And stop sandwiching images in the infobox. Magnolia677 (talk) 23:04, 27 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Magnolia677: Are you saying to stop following the rules now? It is clear what the rules say. Also I am not sandwiching any images. The rules for sandwiching text is putting images on both left and right of a paragraph. I did not do that. Please read the rules carefully. Xeror (talk) 23:36, 27 April 2023 (UTC)
- "avoid sandwiching text between two images that face each other; or between an image and infobox", per MOS:SANDWICH. Magnolia677 (talk) 09:29, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Magnolia677: Point to me when and where I made the texts from being not sandwiching to being sandwiching between two images or between an image and an infobox? I literally put the image right next to the infobox so that the texts are not in between. Xeror (talk) 12:41, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
