Sarmast stuff

[edit]

Most of that wasn't added by Sarmast (who has edited here but I explained to him that he had a conflict of interest and he's mostly gone away) but by a geologist who seems to know his stuff and was debunking Sarmast. Dougweller (talk) 18:45, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to the page Location hypotheses of Atlantis. Such edits constitute vandalism and are reverted. Please do not continue to make unconstructive edits to pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. J.delanoygabsadds 19:08, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Location hypotheses of Atlantis. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. — Kralizec! (talk) 00:04, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Friendly note regarding talk page messages

[edit]

Hello. As a recent editor to User talk:98.248.33.198, I wanted to leave a friendly reminder that as per WP:USER, editors may remove messages at will from their own talk pages. While we may prefer that comments be archived instead, policy does not prohibit users -including anonymous editors like this one- from deleting messages or warnings from their own talk pages. The only kinds of talk page messages that cannot be removed (as per WP:BLANKING) are declined unblock requests (but only while blocks are still in effect), confirmed sockpuppet notices, or shared IP header templates (for unregistered editors). These exceptions only exist in order to keep a user from potentially gaming the system. Thanks, — Kralizec! (talk) 23:24, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy to prevent further disruption caused by your engagement in an edit war at Location hypotheses of Atlantis. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. Jac16888Talk 00:16, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I have been blocked unreasonbly without explanations. The person that blocked me failed to understand that the 3RR was done by a different person whom is been blocked as all, way before me. I did delete a junk of info on Location of Atlantis because it was so technicall and so long. It was part on an essay written by the author

Decline reason:

At 20:04 you were cautioned against violating the three-revert rule. At 20:14 you chose to disregard that warning and again reverted the article to your preferred version. As you have reverted the article eight times in the past 24 hours, including one revert after receiving a 3RR warning, your block appears to be completely proper and fully justified in order to prevent your continued disruption of Wikipedia. — Kralizec! (talk) 00:32, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Removing content as shown here without gaining consensus from other editors violates wikipedia policy. Also, from the article talk page:

Someone with IP: 98.248.33.198 is playing around. can someone identify this person? --Xellas (talk) 22:28, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
It's not playing around, it's restoring massive amounts of sourced material. My identity is irrelevant, and attempting to ID me is a violation of WP guidelines. 98.248.33.198 (talk) 22:31, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

I believe the IP was right to revert your edits because your removal of content was controversial at best. But edit warring over it isn't how things get done, we discuss controversial additions and removals on article talk pages. Momo san Gespräch 00:28, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Posting of personal information

[edit]

Hello. Please be aware that posting personal information about another editor, whether it is true or not, is considered harassment and is grounds for an immediate block. "Outing" another editor as you did on User talk:Momusufan is not allowed, and that information has now been removed. Please do not mention it again. Thank you.
