Power pack
Hiya - I moved the text of power pack to Power pack (science fiction) because I wanted to create a disambiguation page. I agree with you that the topic is a bit thin. I added a one-sentence section to Battery pack and will delete Power pack (science fiction) in a few minutes.

Re: Kevin Dean Edit
I never thought of it as vandalism. I thought you actually had to somehow damage something in order for it to be 'vandalized',though I can see your point, disparaging remarks can be construed as, well, disparaging.
Not that it makes a hill of beans worth of difference to you, I am a friend of the man, and I wanted to help him celebrate his upcoming "hatchday".
For all it's worth, that is Lyncourt folklore. 'The Story Regarding The Origin of Kevin Dean' by MC (Former Bass Player and band member of The Third Party, Kevin Deans first band) Can in fact be verified by the large mole on his nose.

List of Westfields
Firstly, I assume you know there are two different lists for Westfields - one for Australia and one for the rest of the world. My rationale here is the Australian ones are Shopping Centres the other ones are Malls. What's the difference? Australian English local dialect mainly. We don't use Mall to refer to a shopping centre a mall is usually a street restricted to pedestrian traffic. Sorry if that is obvious to you but I have debated the issue with others.
Secondly - Sorry but I'm not making any real effort to maintain the list of... articles. I look at some of the articles occaisionally. My preference would be to have one Westfield Group article with one article summarising activities in each of Australia, USA, UK and NZ. But consensus isn't with me so instead of about five good articles there are a plethora of articles of widely varying quality - but none of them come anywhere near being FA class.
Having said all that, quite a few Australian Westfield related articles are on my watchlist and I !vote quite heavily either keep or merge should I notice any Westfield article go to AfD. Garrie 06:00, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- The generic problem with articles related to the Westfield Group is, there is too much reliance on primary sources. Any issue related to size of building, leasable floor space, gross return, relative size of centre in relation to region/state/country/world - should be coming from an independant source. Common lines include "largest shopping complex in it's catchment" - well you could quite easily define the catchment for a shopping complex exactly the way you want to in order to get the press / prestige you are after.
- So - to improve any of the articles - look for statements regarding size, value, turnover, and provide a link to an independant source.
- Secondly - these articles don't really look like they have a common theme. Sure the topic is all "a shopping complex owned by the Westfield Group" but they don't have a commonality of layout, infobox or anything like that which ties them together.
- Finally - the way to make sure every article is included in the relevant list is by comparing the list of... article to the similar category. I asked for a bot to do the checking a while ago but nobody got back to me. I tend to rely more on categories than lists.
- Thanks for your interest and I'm happy to discuss anything you are trying on for size.Garrie 20:32, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Shah Rukh Khan
Hi there, I noticed your editing on the SRK page where you replaced "Khan" with either "him" or "he" in certain sections. It might be an idea for an encyclopaedic article to retain a touch of formality which is why it is more proper to keep "Khan". But anyhow, I noticed that much of these edits took place in the trivia section. By sheer coincidence, I recently came across WP:TRIVIA and WP:AVTRIV (the latter is an accepted guideline) so there's probably scope for the article to be rewritten properly and for the trivia to be assimilated into the main body of the article.
Just thought I'd say these things. Please don't take this as criticism, it is not. I only wish there were more editors around to work on articles like these so we basically need everyone we've got! :) Hope you do well in your exams. Ekantik talk 02:23, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
- First of all, I believe his trivia section is a bit too long, and needs to be trimmed down a bit. Now that you mention it, I looked up a few Hollywood stars, and all the articles I looked up - Pitt,Jolie,Depp - had their lastnames used throughout the article. Then again, Amitabh Bachchan has a massive trivia section which uses him and he all over. I get the feeling this is a problem among most Bollywood pages, and I'd be glad to fix that. All trivia should be integrated into the body of the article, and all him he her she it (:P) should be changed to lastnames. I'll keep that in mind when I'm editing anything related to actors, thanks for the note!
- And thanks for the exams wishes, I'll need all the luck I can get ;)

P Z Brite
I do hope you'll allow my removal of the obviously biased remarks from the "personal" section of the Poppy Z. Brite entry to stand. This isn't legitimate biographical info; this is editorializing, some of it verging on libel, by someone who obviously has a problem with me and with New Orleans. The comments about the city are inaccurate, and I'm not aware of anyone other than this anonymous person who has "questioned [my] attitude" about the city's recovery, to which I am dedicated.
New Orleans is not "unlivable." I feel qualified to state this, as I am living here.

Hi.
Next to a bad link, I wrote: NOTE: PAGE CANNOT BE FOUND" 2/3/07. You wrote: "have been considered unhelpful or unconstructive."
1. "Have been considered" is "wiggle" language: Passive voice, and considered by whom? "Them?" You? More than one, or just a single person's opinion?
2. The text was pure fact, true, (it still is) and alerted the reader to an error in a Wikipedia article. Please describe how adding a true statement of fact is either "unhelpful" or "unconstructive," or both. Your revert has reintroduced an error to Wikipedia.
Thanks,

- First of all, which page are you talking about? Please mention that in any issues you bring up.
- Second, wiggle language is your own creation - and it refers to the editor who leaves the message, hence it is my opinion, alone.
- Now I've had to look through your contribs, you are referring to Triumph Thunderbird. Well, you added page cannot be found to the heading of an external link. If you wanted to add that note, it should have been next to the link, or below it, certainly not in the sub-heading of an article.
- I thank you for bringing that link to my attention. Apparently the site just underwent re-structuring, which is why the page could not be found. I have put back the correct link. - xC - | ☎ 03:57, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
Hello Xcentaur
None of my edits have been unhelpful or unconstructive. Apart from the Adriaen van der Werff article I created (which, granted, has many edits; I'm learning), the only other contributions I have made are i) removing an obscenity from a featured article, and ii) adding a valid item to a list in the article 'Sing Sing Sing'. All harmless enough, and, in point of fact, constructive and helpful.
Consequently, I'm afraid to tell you that I shall ignore your recent message, and indeed any others you might send.
With a hearty handshake,
Eustace Plimsoll 23:53, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

You left a message for my server address (87.194.73.175) stating that I had been 'considered unhelpful or unconstructive' for a few edits I made on the Adriaen van der Werff article while logged out. They were neither, your revert was neither here nor there, and I'm happy to say that your edict mania is risibly lacking a responsive subject in this case. One might call it pathetic in this regard, like a rabbit without a hole, or a joke without a punchline. However, I'll give you this - the authoritive and official tone of the message was amusing. I take even greater pleasure in ignoring it!
With a dismissive high five,
87.194.73.175 10:04, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
I have just gone through my last 250 edits and haven't found anything even vaguely related to Werff. I do RC-patrolling with WP:MWT, and I'm pretty sure this is a bug. Having said that, I neither know what you mean by risibly, nor appreciate your dismissive tone. Thank you for bringing this bug to my attention. Happy editing xC | ☎ 13:23, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
The message was signed by you; and for my part, I didn't appreciate the dictatorial tone at all. Nonetheless, I'm sorry for being prickly, and appreciate that you are doing good work.
Eustace Plimsoll 13:47, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- I appreciate your apology, RC patrolling is largely a thankless job. My apologies for the tone as well, although I can't do anything about it, it is an automatic message generated by the templates. A list of them can be found here - Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace. I've removed the inappropriate warnings from the IP talk page, and have notified Mike about the bug in the program. Cheers! xC | ☎ 16:51, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Re: Serious glitches in MWT
- The first is a known problem (If the form for selecting a warning is already showing, then it cannot be opened again to warn another user) - I'm hoping to make a workaround to this for the next release.
- The second bug I'm not sure about. After reverting an edit, it waits for the whole page (including images, etc) to load before it warns the user, which can take a while for long pages, though I'm not sure why this would make the program exit. Anyway, it should be able to be speed up a lot if I move some code around, I'll be sure to do that also.
- Now, the third one I haven't run into before, but I have a feeling I may know what's causing it (it loads a page, and, thinking that it has just reverted something, goes to warn the user). If this is the case, then this will also be an easy fix.
I hope this helps, and I apologise for any trouble these bugs have caused you :)

About merging CD86 and CD80 with B7: I think that a "cheap" solution is to just link B7 to CD80 and CD86 (and vive versa). What is writen in the article on B7 is more relevant to CD80 than to CD86. Stripes (hairstyle)
Stripes is a popular hair style amongst southern california youth. If you were to ever visit San Diego I guarantee you will see someone with stripes in there hair. So please do your research before you start adding notability tags on pages and be sure to read the rules about notability tags before you start tossing them on pages. Just because you don't know what something is doesn't mean it isn't notable.

WP:PM : MSN Messenger
Sorry for not getting back to you -- I've been away from Wikipedia for a few weeks.
I think since that request was lodged at WP:PM (November 2006), there has been significant discussion and improvement with regards to the location of the argument. I oppose merging for the following reasons:
- It could restart a since-cooled-down debate.
- There seems to be a distinct identity for each page and the boundaries are set, or so it seems.
I could be completely wrong -- I was just the admin who came around and closed the discussion after it was listed at WP:RM. But, my best guess would be just to remove the request, and if it comes up again, then people can blame me. Hopefully that helped. If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Endal (Dog)
Hi there
thank you so much for taking the time to help and share advice, this is one heck of a steep learning curve for me but I'll get there
The article is not only based on Endal's abilities i.e. operating a cash point machine but his psychological benefit to me in the aftermath of the 1991 Gulf war.
There are many types of assistance dogs, emotional support dog is one of the groups. The whole article is to show why Endal has become so famous world wide is the support of his human partner (me)for a decade. The strength of our human animal bond is what Endal is famed for, made more remarkable by his saving my life after we were both struck by a hit and run car
I have added links to news papers etc at the bottom of the page now but not sure how to title them up yet?
Once again thank you for you help

- Two reasons -
- Unneccessary random nonsense ends up being sprinkled into that one paragraph trivia which more often than not has completely unencyclopedic content.
- A trivia section breaks the flow of the page and makes WP look more like a blog than a respectable reliable and verifiable encyclopedia.
- A trivia section is fine on a fan-site, blog or any such place where credibility is not an issue. We are trying to build an encyclopedia here, so such sections must be reduced, removed or integrated, as needed.
