[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of Tour de France secondary classification winners, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sam Bennett. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]Supercopa de España
[edit]The tournament features both finalists from the Copa del Rey and the remaining highest ranked teams from the La Liga season that are not qualified through the cup final.--Island92 (talk) 23:40, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
Barcelona and Valencia qualified for last year's Supercopa not for being finalists but because they've won La Liga and Copa del Rey 2018-19, not like Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad, that are listed as finalists, this year that are considered finalists because 2019-20 Copa del Rey Final is still to be played on April 4th 2021. I believe that make much more sense that the semi-finalist listed first to be the one who lost to the winner.
I'm sorry but I couldn't find any other way to chat with you...
- Yes, but Supercopa de España rules say that the tournament features both finalists from the Copa del Rey and the remaining highest ranked teams from the La Liga season that are not qualified through the cup final and we must follow this information. Real Sociedad were eliminated (13 January 2021) before Real Madrid (14 January 2021) so they go above.--Island92 (talk) 11:56, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- Ok then, but Valencia should be listed as Copa del Rey winners even if they want to list Barcelona as La Liga champions and Copa del Rey finalists, because a team that won a national cup deserves some "recognition" instead of being listed only as "finalists"
- You're right, but into the official document about the rules of this competition published by RFEF it includes "finalist", not basing the qualification to the Super Cup about the best recognition.--Island92 (talk) 20:01, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- In the official document about 2020-21 Supercopa de España... About the 2019-20 edition (https://www.rfef.es/sites/default/files/bases_competiciones_de_ambito_estatal.pdf - page 6): "They got the right to participate the Copa del Rey winners and runners-up and La Liga champions and runners-up. (...)", so and according to the official document about 2019-20 edition, Valencia participate as 2018-19 Copa del Rey winners, Barcelona as 2018-19 La Liga champions, Atlético as 2018-19 La Liga runners-up and Real Madrid as 2018-19 La Liga thrid place.
About 2020-21 edition, the way they qualify is correct just because the 2019-20 Copa del Rey wasn't yet played like we already discuss
- I read this - Si alguno de los finalistas de Copa del Rey se hubiera clasificado, también, en primer o segundo lugar del Campeonato de Liga de Primera División -.--Island92 (talk) 22:00, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- But next says that the "Copa del Rey clubs" keeps the spot they earn for that via (winners or runners-up of the Copa), so I don't know who give the "authorization" to approve that kind of things but be coherent with previous edition, even if it was played in a different format, I suggest that Valencia should be listed as winners and if they want to keep Barcelona as La Liga winner and Copa finalists it's fine but Valencia was qualified to be the winner, above from being finalist. Last edition rules give my point reason...
- Ok. Let's report it into Wikipedia:WikiProject Football so that users can reach a reliable and final decision about it.--Island92 (talk) 12:37, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
