Chinese Gymnasts

[edit]

I have reverted all the edits you made regarding the issue of possible underage Chinese gymnasts at the 2008 Summer Olympics. You cannot use youtube as a source for making potentially controversial changes. Please see WP:RS for a guide to what can be used to source statements. Thanks Basement12 (T.C) 23:51, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add content without citing reliable sources, as you did to 2008 Summer Olympics. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Contact me if you need assistance adding references. Please stop this you sources are unexeptable under wikipedia guidelines - Basement12 (T.C) 00:01, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Your edits are being undone by multiple users on many pages. You cannot use youtube as a source for controversial material. If you persist then you will be reported to an administrator with the aim of having you blocked from editing. Please stop. Basement12 (T.C) 00:14, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you.

You have been temporarily blocked from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for edit-warring to include links that are not allowed on Wikipedia. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Request reason:

My changes to some Wiki pages got removed by this user: Basement12. He's accusation has no ground. I added a section with reference to a YouTube video. There are millions of links on Wiki with reference to YouTube. What made mine special? So I reverted his undo and warned him. However, he accused me of the same thing for no reason, and reverted back my changes. The next thing I know, my account got blocked by you. I think this is totally unfair to me as a user. What made Basement12's arguments more legit than mine? I don't agree that my edits should be removed. Please review those edits and make a decision on your part.

Decline reason:

Youtube is should very rarely be used as a source. You edit-warred to insert a link to Youtube after being asked repeatedly not to do so, yet you fail to understand why you've been blocked. — Ice Cold Beer (talk) 06:54, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Note: Your block will expire in two days. Then you are welcome to edit again, but please read about Wikipedia:Reliable sources. Basically, we can use newspaper articles, books, scientific articles, etc, but not self-published things like YouTube videos and blogs. There are some YouTube links on Wikipedia, but they are not used as reliable sources. --Apoc2400 (talk) 07:53, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
