You are stating that you want to extend on some basic background information on 'Claire Bowern' which I think is an excellent idea. Her date of birth would be one place to start. The original Wikipedia article only states that she works with Australian indigenous languages, but is she Australian? Further information on her academic and professional career would be helpful for the reader. Maybe she has a CV that you could take information from to give the reader a better idea of who Claire Bowern is.

You mention that you intend to create a section that deals directly with her research instead of just listing sources. I think that is also a good idea. Highlighting her most significant works in the field, summarizing them and giving an overview how/why they are important contributions in the field would be neat. For that you picked her research on the Pama-Nyungan “border” areas, the Chirila data base, and Punctuated Equilibrium. Extending on these three would highlight why it is important to include Claire Bowern on Wikipedia and why to read about her. Finishing with a bibliography of her works an overview of her current work also seems helpful. I think your outline and ideas are going the right direction.
