Commercial use of Image:Llaguno zooom back.jpg
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Llaguno zooom back.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Llaguno zooom back.jpg has a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission, which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3). While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.
If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Llaguno zooom back.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 20:40, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

Conflict of interest
[edit]If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article The Revolution Will Not Be Televised (documentary), you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
- and you must always:
- avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.
Accounts used solely for blatant self-promotion may be blocked without further warning.
For more details, please read the Conflict of Interest guideline. Thank you. JRSP 21:58, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for the information. The problem I have as the author of "X Ray of a lie" is that I have no links that you can follow the story beacuse the site (Elgusanodeluz.com)has dissapeared. The other link to a petition on line is Blacklisted in wikipedia. This is importante because it tells the story of the university meeting were all began for "X rays" of a lie. Wschalks (talk) 23:35, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
- WS, neither petitiononline nor elgusanodeluz would qualify as reliable sources anyway); I have the Scorpion book around here somewhere. Could you please tell me on what page to look for text about X-Ray, and I will adjust the text. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 21:40, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
- Found the Scorpion book, and see X-Ray is discussed on p. 265. But it only says, "A blow-by-blow of the film's manipulations was done in another documentary called X-ray of a Lie (Rdiogrfia de una Mentira) by Wolfgang Schalk and Thaelman Urgelles." Is there any other text in the Scorpion book that you know of? The footnote on page 337 adds nothing else, and the text from p. 265 is already cited in the article. Hello from Caracas
[edit]Hi, you're Wolgang Schalk from "X-Ray of a lie" ? It's a amazing piece of work. You're still living in Venezuela ? I'm living in Chacaito. I wonder, if you're speaking german, you name sounds german (I am native german)... Would be nice to talk with you...
Sure , I still live in Caracas. I am austrian born but have lived all my life in Venezuela. My email is wschalks@gmail.com . You can write there Wschalks (talk) 23:32, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Working on it
[edit]Hello User:Wschalks; I've contacted others and am working to figure out how to resolve the dilemma of your word vs. a source deemed reliable; considering your COI, you might be advised to confine your edits to talk on that article while feedback is pending. I did make a (confusing) mistake in edit summary, confusing this article with The Revolution Will Not Be Televised (film), which is a WP:FA; my comment to read WP:OWN#Featured articles does not apply to the X-Ray article, and that was my mistake in edit summary (I thought I was on the other article). Saludos, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 00:32, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
- I'll also inquire about this, but I don't think it an be used as a reliable source, per WP:V. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 00:39, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
- I'm just now catching up after the New Year-- I will look at the article text as soon as I locate my Scorpion book, and ask someone knowledgeable with images to help with your question below. Feliz Año. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 21:33, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

How to add picture on article
[edit]I have read the help section to add a picture of the cover of a DVD which I created and there is an article on it (X-Ray of a Lie) but I still don´t get it. I have a jpg image (640 X 434 pixels). The instructions are confusing and hev problems to understand them . Please advise so I can contribute to that article which also can be used in the film section Wschalks (talk) 23:44, 31 December 2010 (UTC) Wschalks (talk) 23:45, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
- Per request
First off, I am assuming that this is of the DVD cover only. Generally, when one is uploading "amateur" photographs not seen anywhere else, no one will likely doubt the uploader's claim of ownership. However, it is a different kettle of fish when it comes to commercial products or professional-quality works.
- Copyright ownership
- The creator of the film might not be the copyright holder of the cover. The copyright of the cover usually belongs to the designer of the cover. It might also belong to the publisher of the DVD if the designer is specifically employed by them to design such covers. Only the copyright holder can upload the copyrighted content and authorize it per the steps below.
- Steps to upload copyrighted content created by self
- Upload (better to do it on Commons)
- Use either
{{PD-self}}
(if you would like anyone to use the content anyhow they like) or one of the Creative Commons licenses (if you prefer anyone to use the content anyhow they like, provided they attribute you). - Attach a
{{OTRS pending}}
template to the image page. - Per WP:IOWN and commons:Commons:OTRS, send an email to the relevant OTRS department with the declaration that you are the copyright holder and you are releasing it into the public domain or under the desired Creative Commons license.
If you prefer not to allow the "free" use of your copyrighted work, it is still possible to upload the cover as a copyrighted item as consensus on Wikipedia has allowed the upload of copyrighted DVD cover if it is solely used in the article about the DVD. The image would be uploaded to Wikipedia and the selections would "It is a cover or other page from a book, DVD, newspaper, magazine, or similar source" and "DVD, Blu-ray Disc, videotape, etc. cover". A fair use rationale template would then be needed for the image page (see Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline). Jappalang (talk) 08:02, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
Archives
[edit]Here is gusanodeluz at archive.org:
Many of those pages time out on my browser before they load, so I'm not having much luck there-- you may have better luck. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 23:05, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
- Did you get the petitiononline.org/gusano3/ web page? there is the story
Wschalks (talk) 01:33, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- Not via archive.org, but I can and have read the petition myself, online. It's a primary source (meaning, a letter from you, the subject, not a secondary source), and even if not blacklisted, can't really be used, but I've entered some followup questions to admins to get more feedback. (I know the whole story-- it's a question of what we can include on Wiki, per WP:V and WP:RS.) We do have text mentioning the petition from The Guardian, cited in the article now. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 01:39, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
+*Here is the link to the article, in Spanish, of the forum made in October 2003 http://www.plataformademocratica.net/Documentos/Adobe/cine%20foro%20realizado%20por%20el%20gusano%20de%20luz.pdf
- This event clearly demonstrates that there was no comissioning by anyone as stated by A:C Clark . The petition came as a result of the spoken contributions made by the people that attended the event. At the end of it we hade some signatures approving the creation of a Petition on line and sending the letter to the co producers of "The revolution will not be televised".
With this result , I created the petition on line and had 12.000 signatures in these years Wschalks (talk) 19:12, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
