I added a banner to the bottom of your user page warning people that your user page is not a Wikipedia article, and that it should not be used at such. Please do not delete it. Griffinofwales (talk) 20:56, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Categories
[edit]Hi. I removed the categories from your user space. Viriditas (talk) 11:52, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
- Please read WP:CAT. User pages are not articles, and thus do not belong in content categories. Please keep the discussion here. Thanks. Viriditas (talk) 23:30, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
I need serious help with this project
[edit]Hi, I'm new to this and hate coding with all my heart.
I'm trying to build this wiki page for our Intergovernemtnal Organiation. I took the UN sample and made all the changes (since we work with them), but some stuf still has the UN direction even if we can't see anything on the finished page.
I got totally lost with the infobox, I can't create one that does what I want and I can make the UN work 80%.
I'm more confused with the MOVE function, if I do that do I loose my page?
What is the easiest way to stpo people from making changes to my page? I count not understand the help section, teh undue funciton did not work....to confusing (for me) that know nothing about coding or what are these guys talking about.
I have many more questions that if these first ones get answered I may risk to ask for some more help.
Thanks

- Well, move simply changes the article's name, takes all the history (edits you made) and places it elsewhere, redirecting the former page to the new one. On the other one... you don't usually stop people from making changes, unless they're unconstructive, in which case yes, you use undo (you can press it and simply 'save' it if you want; it'll work as a clean revert). -- Mentifisto 18:15, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Hi there, my user name is Chzz ►
I hope I can help.
I understand your dislike of coding, and it's important that you don't need to know how to 'code' to edit wikipedia.
History and undoing changes
[edit]Wikipedia works in a different way to what you might think of as 'undo'.
Every page has a historic record of every change ever made to it - who made the change, when, and exactly what was changed. In that way, it's possible to go back to any previous version. You can also look at old versions, and look at old changes. Nothing is ever 'deleted'.
Because it's all free content, we want a record of who wrote what. We could just copy a load of stuff from a page, and paste it into a new one, but then we'd loose all the history.
So we use 'move'.
Each page has a talk page and a history. If you MOVE a page, you also move the article and it's history.
Stopping people changing my page
[edit]"easiest way to stpo people from making changes to my page?" - you can't.
Everything put onto wikipedia is released under the GFDL licence, which means it's free for anyone to copy, change, put in a book, use for advertizing, do what they like with.
There is no such thing as "my page".
Infoboxes
[edit]The infobox looks OK - what part are you concerned about?
You can look at the documentation for an infobox by typing TEMPLATE:nameofinfobox - so, in this case, look at TEMPLATE:Infobox Geopolitical organization. That tells you how it works. You can copy the examples from there, and fill them in.
I hope this helps; I'll watch this page, so if you've more questions, please put them below. Thanks!

changes/move
[edit](copied in from my talk Chzz ► ) A person came to our page and took our categories out. Why people do that without reading the articles ot the content of the page?
Thanks
Wsaigo (talk) 19:01, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
- Please keep the chat all in one place (here) or it gets very confusing. Don't worry; if the page changes I will notice.
- Don't know why they removed the categories, but the best thing is to assume good faith - they were probably trying to help, even if they didn't actually help. Best thing is to politely ask them on their talk page, and discuss it.
Move function
Hi Chzz, I'm trying to understand when we why should I move function?
My point is to ask if this page will always be considered a user page or will become an article?
When will people be able to find us in a wiki search by typing WSAIGO or world Sports Allaince?
To I have to use the Move function?
Thank you very much for your help.
I will answer th other questions also.
Wsaigo (talk) 19:01, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
- Use 'move' when you want to preserve changes made by several people. In the case of this page you're creating in your own user space, while you work on it, it's not necessary. You can just create a new page and paste things in; you could have bits in different pages, and copy/paste them around as you wish. Or work on it in an editor (like notepad) and paste it in...whichever way you like to work.
- Once it goes 'live' on wikipedia, you you need to use 'move'. For example, to 'rename' a page, we move it, so that the history and talk page stays with it.
Cheers, -- Chzz ► 19:22, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
P.S. Plain summary: don't worry about 'move' until you've been here a while,, and you need to merge pages or something like that. It's really not important. To 'make your page live' just create the new article and paste it in. -- Chzz ► 19:24, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

This kind of activity is considered spamming and forbidden by policies, and also violates our username policy.
However, if you feel that there has been a mistake in your blocking, please appeal this block by adding the text{{unblock|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page or email the administrator who blocked you. Your reason should include your response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy (specifically, understand that accounts are for individuals, not companies or groups, and that your username should reflect this). Please check that your new username has not already been taken by checking this list. –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 20:07, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Request reason:
Dear Wikipedia administrators, we have been reading all the manuals while developping the WSAIGO article on Wikipedia, specially the ones that shows reputable information about the organization and articles about who we are and this is all listed under the references section that are putting together as important information on the article.
WSA is and Intergovernmental Organization working together with the United Nations on the achievement of the 8 UN-MDGs
We have been asking for help from other users and admins and trying to get things done the right way.
If you pay close attention to our article/page you will notice that we never promote any type of product or services, we are simply explaining what our job is to promote the UN Millennium Development Goals and how we can make it possible.
Please take a careful look at what we are trying to put together on wikipedia and unblock our account.
It would be very much appreciated if you could work together with us to help us further our understanding of wikipedia and also to end up having the proper information on your site.
Decline reason:
You need to recognize that you have a conflict of interest with respect to this organization, and it's not appropriate for you to be creating an article on it, whether or not your intention is to promote. If the organization meets the criteria for inclusion, someone else will eventually create an article on it. See WP:BESTCOI] for how you ought to behave with respect to this conflict; if you can agree to that, and you agree to change your username so it doesn't match your organization, you can be unblocked. Mangojuicetalk 00:52, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Thank you very much,

Hi,
If you look at the block reason, you'll note that your account has been blocked simply because of your user name, and the block is nothing to do with the article. The policy is WP:USERNAME. Because your user name was the same as your company name, and you were creating an article about that company, the policy was violated. The very simple answer to this is, create a new account with a name that is nothing to do with your company.

- Apologies, Chzz is not aware that your block prevents you from creating a new account. Mangojuicetalk 00:52, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
