Reviewers
[edit]Reviewers explain their reasons for declining a draft at the draft. They do not help with improvements. They do not reconsider. A resubmitted draft is usually taken up by a different reviewer. David notMD (talk) 03:08, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
Paid editing
[edit]Hello Writerday. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly, as you did for two articles, now draftified.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Writerday. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Writerday|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that here on your Talk page in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. David notMD (talk) 03:14, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi David, I can understand why you feel this way but it is not the case. As much as I would like to be paid for this I just want to create articles for Canadian Entrepreneurs that have done a lot but aren't fully recognized for it as I am a student and want to put this in my resume moreso. This is my first article around this person and I am trying my best to follow the guidelines.Writerday (talk) 05:34, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
- Understand that what I posted above is a standardized query used when new editors appear who are focused on creating an article about a business or person, especially when the initial act was to create an article in mainspace rather than a draft to submit to AfC. Your declaration here of not being paid and not having a COI such as a personal connection to the person or charity, is sufficient. That said, neither Gordon nor his charity may be sufficiently notable in the Wikipedia sense of the term to justify an article. See WP:TOOSOON. David notMD (talk) 12:36, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
