User talk:Wrelwser43
Inspired by an xkcd comic, months ago I added an script that changed all instances of keyboard to leopard on web pages viewed through Google Chrome. I got a notification that an edit of mine had been reverted, which doesn't happen often because literally 99% of my edits are thoroughly uncontroversial copyedits. The diff in question shows that the script somehow changed the text in the edit window of a page I was editing. I have disabled the script, and in the next few days I will review all of my edits made since last March (when I installed the script) to find any inadvertent leopardizations that may have occurred. In the meantime, if you come upon what 203.217.22.129 (the reverting editor) generously termed my "marginally humorous vandalism", know (or assume) that it was not intended as vandalism.
Welcome

[edit]Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
[edit]Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:42, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hey. I had a look at your JavaScript, and all I can think of is one very small improvement. Depending on how long you've been away it may solve the issue you are experiencing (clear your browser cache to make sure it's noticed my change). Otherwise, WP:VPT is likely to be the best avenue of enquiry. (Two simple questions: does it work in any browser? If you load it in Internet Explorer, does it cause a JavaScript error message to appear in the bottom left of the screen? If so, what is the attached error message?). Thanks, - Jarry1250 [Weasel?
