License tagging for Image:Germans in Bessarabia.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Germans in Bessarabia.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Please don't blank your own talk page
[edit]Hello. In case you didn't know, it's considered bad wikiquette to remove content from your own talk page that others have placed there. It's like a record of what people have talked to you about - if the stuff is offensive or highly personal you can remove it, but things like warnings (like the unsourced image ones above) or welcome notices (or even past discussions) should be left alone for archival purposes. If your talk page gets too long, the approved method of removing content is to archive it, preferably with the Move method. Thanks. If you have any queries, don't hesitate to ask me. —Vanderdecken∴ ∫ξφ 08:07, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I notice that you added a nomination to Featured picture candidates, but you didn't create the nomination page. Please follow the instructions for how to nominate an image - you placed the tag on the image and added the link to the FPC page, but you did not create the subpage (the first step). Please create a subpage and add the image accordingly. However, as a word of advice - that picture is unlikely to pass. Although the subject is stunning, the buildings are out of focus, tilted and grainy. Thanks. —Vanderdecken∴ ∫ξφ 08:07, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Non-free use disputed for Image:Ganhashomronsm.jpg
[edit]This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Ganhashomronsm.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 10:38, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use Image:Madwest.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Madwest.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 06:12, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your recent edit to Template:NFLStartingQuarterbacks. However, Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. Kurt Warner has not started yet. Yes, he will likely start for the Cardinals in their next game, but, until he actually takes that first snap of the game, he is not a current starting quarterback. Who knows what could happen between now and then. Let's wait until he actually starts before editing the template. Thanks! Skudrafan1 00:39, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
Image tagging for Image:Cocktail Glass (Martini)2.svg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Cocktail Glass (Martini)2.svg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We requires this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.
To add this information, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Berwick Rangers.gif)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Berwick Rangers.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 15:04, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
