The captions for the draped female figures were incorrect, these are not caryatids, caryatids are defined as supporting column members in the form of a full round female figure sculpture. They are more correctly called draped female figures or draped figure sculptures. The figure on the right was damaged long ago, the apparent staff held in her left hand is actually a sword, the handle of which was broken off, as I lived in this building in the 1980s I actually found the broken sword handle in the sub-sub basement partially buried in the dirt floor. They fixed the sculpture but with the wrong design- a torch instead of a sword handle. The handle was broken off before 1923 as a photo I have from that year shows it missing. The oval window they "support" once held a clock, I have two photos from the 1920s proving this, and the sword handle, but I can't upload them yet.Wolff90126 (talk) 21:57, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
