Maybe a silly question...
[edit]{{helpme}} I am a new user/soon to be contributor, fingers crossed, but I have a couple of questions. Can I write an article, and have it be accepted, if it is about a word not shown in the dictionary? It may be a slang word, but not a curse word. It would be a word that is not completely made up, but is an up and coming word in modern pop culture. I would go into as much detail as possible about its origins, how it would be used in certain contexts, and its meanings. Wlshmj (talk) 03:53, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
- That's certainly not a silly question. Please ask anything you like, any time.
- It sounds like the word would be a neologism - please see that link. Also, Wikipedia is not a dictionary - that link explains all about this sort of thing, and the differences between a Wikipedia article and a Wiktionary one.
- For more help, you can either;
- Leave a message on my own talk page;
OR
- Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end;
OR
- Talk to us live, with this or this.
- Best wishes, Chzz ► 04:09, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

Red Highlighted Words
[edit]{{helpme}} I understand that the red hight lighted words are subjects that lack a Wikipedia page. So my question... Is there a way that I can retrieve an entire list of red high lighted words? Wlshmj (talk) 03:42, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- Special:WantedPages, though in theory there would be an unlimited number in the full list. Intelligentsiumreview 03:56, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
{{helpme}} How do we add a picture to our wiki page currently under construction?
- If you want to add an existing image to an article, add
[[Image:File name.jpg|thumb|Caption text.]]
to the area of the article where you want the image to appear – replacingFile name.jpg
with the actual file name of the image, andCaption text
with a short description of the image. See our picture tutorial for more information. - If you want to upload an image from your computer for use in an article, you must find out what the proper license of the image is. If you know the image is licensed under a free-license, upload it to the Wikimedia Commons instead of here, so that all projects have access to the image (sign up). If you are unsure what license the image takes, see the file upload wizard for more information. Please also read Wikipedia's image use policy. I hope this helps.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 05:01, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
