- Why are you adding "left handed" to articles, and what is your source for this information? ·:· Will Beback ·:· 03:53, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
1. I apologize for my slow reply. For one thing, I just now figured out HOW to reply.
2. I added "left-handed" to all these articles because I think it is interesting that so many actors are left handed, especially when
there are 2 or more in the same show or group: Hal Linden and Barabara Barrie as husband and wife in Barney Miller; all 3 of the
female regulars in the 2001 season of Law and Order; and especially the 3 Hitchcock blondes - 3 in a row if you count only his color
movies.
3. My source is personal observation: I have seen all of these actors write with their left hands in their movies and TV shows. This is also the source of the info in all of my other edits. You could argue that this qualifies as original research, and therefore taboo on wiki. But all of these observations are verifiable by others. If you watch Vertigo, North By Northwest, The Birds,
and Marnie, you will see the 3 Hitchcock blondes write with their left hands. If you watch Absolutely Fabulous, you will see Julia Sawalha write with her left while wearing horn rimmed glasses. If you are in Panama City, you can see the 2 F-101 Voodoo fighters on display there.
4. Thank you for your Welcome and your question. Wjwtk (talk) 19:25, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply - I know it can be hard to figure out Wikipedia procedures. If we see an actress in a movie fly through the air, we don't say that the actress can fly. If we see her expertly driving a race car we don't say she's an expert race car driver. If an actreess in a movie says she's from Spain, we don't use that as a basis for saying the actress is Spanish. Likewise, if an actress is shown in a movie writing with her left hand we can't assume that the actress is actually left-handed. It could be that Hitchcock asked the actresses to do so because of some theory of left-handed characters. Before making further edits I suggest you read Wikipedia:verifiability carefully. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 20:10, 17 May 2008 (UTC)\
- Wjwtk, I find these left-handed film scenes quite fascinating. Why don't you rewrite above as a section for the Left-handedness page? Pepso2 (talk) 14:29, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for your interest, and I apologize for my slow reply. I will rewrite them for the Left-handedness page when I can document that the actors truly are left-handed. As Will Beback pointed out, what's on the screen could just be part of the story. If I ever can document that they are left-handed, I will be adding the following to the list: Nina Foch, Rod Steiger, Anthony Perkins, William Campbell, Henry Silva, Judy Garland (she wrote with her left in a TCM documentary about Clark Gable, and check the soup and ice cream scenes in Meet Me in St. Louis), and Barbara Harris - who wrote with her left in Family Plot, Alfred Hitchcock's last movie. Thank you again.Wjwtk (talk) 01:04, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Linking to ships
[edit]Here's a tip, ship names are italicized on wikipedia, and instead of linking to disambiguation pages, you'll want to link to them properly. A way to do that is to use the specialized templates that WP:SHIPS has developed: {{USS}}, etc. -MBK004 23:04, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Harriman Nelson problems
[edit]I tried several modified previews and the problem didn't occur for me. Make your edits and I'll fix the ribbons if something happens to them. Dr. Stantz (talk) 19:56, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
