I would like a few IPBEs
[edit]Wjcw (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
IP address 199.180.254.181 belongs to my VPS which I utilize when traveling for privacy and security. It was incorrectly blocked as an Open Proxy, but I do not utilize any open proxies. (My first invoice for the server was on October 8, 2012 and I never did run an open proxy, so I am very confused.) Please consider an IPBE, thank you. Wjcw (talk) 16:54, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
Decline reason:

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

IP address 2605:8900:3000:1001:4:0:59:2 also belongs to my VPS which I utilize when traveling for privacy and security. It was blocked in block referenced in the Contributions page for 2605:8900:0:0:0:0:0:0/32. Wjcw (talk) 17:26, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

An IPBE may be given when requested by an editor of good standing with a good editing history. You have made only six edits from this account, five of which were to your talk page. This account therefore does not qualify for exemption. You are obviously too knowledgeble to be a new editor; do you have another account? --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 19:16, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
I haven't used another account. For the most part I created this account to avoid blocks at various educational institutions I've attended as many students deface Wikipedia from school machines. I believe I have less than 100 edits that are unassociated with any account. I shall continue to contribute edits utilizing this account in hopes that I can build this good standing and good edit history necessary for an IPBE. Wjcw (talk) 13:29, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- From my understanding, IPBE was mainly designed for users who needed to use proxies, vpns, tor, etc. in order to bypass restrictions imposed by government institutions. Though it is given on a case to case basis, the reason why the flag should be given needs to be compelling. Using a VPS for the sake of privacy and security is however not really a compelling reason to have the flag given out. If this were the case, every user would be eligible and would be given out. However, as I said previously, we need a compelling reason for this flag to be given out. If you have any more questions or concerns, please feel free to respond.
