Image talk
Hi Wise I enjoyed that article. Good work. I just received about 20 tag message for an invalid rationale even though I have given ten valid points. Does Image:RandallHopkirk10.jpg look valid? Thanks -I hope your computer is over his illness ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 10:02, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
This morning I had a bot give me about 20 images as invalid. It took up 50kb. I hope I've sorted it.
Could you splice Image:Alka Yagnik.jpg in half when you have a moment. Luckily the project has been able to find many clear images but this one is a singer where they don't have biography pages on the site. Thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:04, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks wise. Yes I am thinking about standardizing the film rationale templates like the non free rationale box you use. This looks great and professional and shuts up all image taggers for good -I noticed you added one to the Khmer Rouge documentary film which I again had a message for -thanks. What annoys is that they drill me and many others 25 bot messages when they could tell you it once and then give you the titles of the images rather than a 50 kb message. If this can be done by a bot I'm sure taggers can recognize encyclopedic non free content and add a bot rationale itself and do everybody a favour. Actually the images originally even mentioned copywright owned by ITC 1969 and they were still tagged. Randall and Hopkirk is a classic I doubt many people outside the UK have ever seen it. Hey any idea what happened to the Film newsletter for September? (Oh I see we have it now -just a little late) ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 11:18, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
See Category:Images from Bollywood Blog. Not a bad looking bunch huh? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 12:43, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
OH yep thats right thanks. User:Riana an admin created the category but didn't get them all but it is a good idea. We have most of them categorized I think. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 13:09, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
You'll be very pleased to know I have the packages now to modify images and have learnt the basics but it may take some time to get used to it. Please see Tushar Gandhi (the great grandson of the great Ganhi). I managed to get an image -does this look ok? That site has images of literally thousands and thousands of people who are not only actors but of other things. I tried to unblur it a little but is it ok? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:27, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Original source:
♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:29, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
I know I did a trial and error thing and fiddled with sizes but when uploaded them to wikipedia they looked bigger and less clear. Its probably not a good idea to boost the px too much. We can get away with it at 150px but as I didn't have any experience in it I had to see what was best. I actually have two packages Photo Impression 5 (which I've been using) and Paint Shop Pro 7. The great thing is that we can crop some images for film premieres and put them in the release section of the film articles ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:01, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
I uploaded a cropped image with Image:Dildostietcpremiere.jpg but forgot to boost the colour. Is this of a good enough quality? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:03, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
OK how about Image:Dildostietc1.jpg? i managed to boost the color but I couldn't manage to reduce the camera glare on her face. Is this better? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:33, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
For Jiah Khan I also learned how to blacken out the white board on the left. It looks OK I think ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:41, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
I'm getting the hang of it - Image:JohnandBipasha.jpg . I don't know how to "burn it" as you said earlier did you mean a red contrast? WHich package do you have? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:59, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks -LOL - lets be honest though any picture of her would look fine. She is one fine beauty. There are numerous things on the programmes I have, I'll have to test it out a bit more in the coming days and weeks to see if I could achieve such effects- its supposed to be a good package, my Dell Dimension is pretty up to date. All the best ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:13, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Film festival task force
Will do. I haven't noticed anyone that's been especially active but then I haven't shopped around much festival article–wise. I'll keep a look out for potential members though. Doctor Sunshine talk 02:29, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Me again -just seen your proposals. I think it is a good idea I'll support you. I don't think of the national pages as wikiprojects anyway -the task forces were intially pages to organize articles on individual cinemas more effectively which I began with on Argentina -articles which require attention, missing in need of expansion etc. Unfortunately User:Longhair has destroyed the primary Category:Australian films 16:02, 3 October 2007 (UTC) ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:59, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
If you look at Category:Australian films you'll see it is no longer Category:Australian films -so finding a film in the A-Z is impossible. Have a look it has been split by genre which is very confusing as many films overlap. It was agreed a while back that the main A-Z categories should remain . Imagine splitting Category:Thai films up entirely! E.g like Category:Australian action films isolating -not a good idea:navy;">♦ Sir Blofeld ♦]] "Talk"? 17:04, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
- Looks like there is enough support - if you're willing to wait a few hours, I'll start to do the work of creating the pages and template recoding. Congrats, Girolamo Savonarola 17:44, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
- I'd rather wait and do all the necessary work (including organizing) in one go, if you don't mind. (Just when I get off of work...) Can't help with the bots, though; that's outside of my knowledge bubble... Girolamo Savonarola 18:24, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
Albums and music
Hi Wise you work on albums on wikipedia don't you? I just found some of my old cds from the 90s from the cool British indie group Dodgy and just stubbed some of their albums. Their music was very catchy indeed - reminiscent of the mid to late 1960s. You may have heard the song Good Enough. If you've now got Youtube in Thailand check out In a Room. Another one that cracked me up was the video for Staying out for the summer which featured a flying Volkwagen hippie mobile (Harry Potter style) and a guy flying on a Twister mat!! Well I've seen many ogg files of 30 second clips begin to appear on wikipedia and I was wondering if you know how to save clips and upload them and what the copywright issues are surrounding them. Ideally I'd like to upload three or four files of the bands greatest songs and upload to others to.
I've also kind of adopted the non free rationale type template you use and have put in my film rationale and have been copying and pasting it into new articles like Yaadein etc. It takes the form of a navigation template -would there be a way to simplify the structure of it? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 10:41, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks yes I did think about trying to convert it to template but the mechanics of it got the better of me in the end although I almost made it!!!! I spoke to Videmus who as you know does a lot of work with images and tagging and he thought it was good also. Really I would like to see a standard template like that for all articles and it makes us look more consistent and would save people trouble at a later date. It is also very easy to copy and paste it in and adjust the title or dvd/screenshot as appropriate.
I'm glad you like Dodgy -they are very much like The Who who happen to be one of my favourite bands cool 60s sound.- I'm also very relieved for you that the country has now let Youtube back. Myanmar (or is it Burma now whats happening with that?) would never dream of letting it in I'd imagine. I'll have to try to see what I can upload - reading some of The Beatles articles whilst playing the clips makes a major difference and puts wikipedia on a new level. The best thing I'd imagine is to try to contact some people you have uploaded ogg files and ask them for tips.
All the best and thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:52, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

The newsletter is back! Many things have gone on during the past few months, but many things have not. While the assessment drive helped revitalize the assessment department of the project, many other departments have received no attention. Most notably: peer review and our "workgroups". A day long IRC meeting has been planned for October 13th, with the major focus being which areas of the project are "dead", what should our goals be as a project, and how to "revive" the dead areas of our project. Contribute to the discussion on the the new channel (see below) We decided to deliver this newsletter to all project members this month but only those with their names down here will get it delivered in the future. This is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue. Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned or post news on the next issue's talk page
Lastly, a new WikiProject Biography channel has been set up on the freenode network: Our thanks to Phoenix 15 for setting it up.

A little request
Hey, I remember you cleaning the Kareena Kapoor image removing the logo. I wanted to ask you, could you please remove the watermark logo from this image too? Please, I will be really extermely grateful to you, it is really important to me. Best regrds, --Shahid • Talk2me 14:15, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for replying. So I see that this photo will also be problematic. And what with this one? Perhaps here the face is sufficient. What do you say? --Shahid • Talk2me 15:50, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- Yes you're right, but I just wanted an image which can show her fit body, which was perfectly illustrated in the first image I gave you. The article has been rated GA today!:) In fact - it really doesn't matter - thank you very much! Regards, --Shahid • Talk2me 16:12, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- For now, unfortunately, I have no other images - so it's OK I'll let you know whenever I have one! Thanks, Shahid • Talk2me 16:21, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Thai TV
Wise I've begun drawing up a template for television series by country at Template:WorldTV. I haven't yet formatted it but can you start an article on List of Thai television series?. I aim to document world tv like films and try to complete the picture. Thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 22:24, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
Or does TV not interest you? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 11:08, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
Ah I see I just thought as you had the Thai language tag on your user page you understood it, but I vaguely remember you saying you can barely speak it. I don't watch much TV anymore either, the only times i turn on the TV really is to watch either films on cable or dvds. I think I'll develop it gradually - I'm just all for even coverage. Saludos. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 13:57, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
Emmylou Nudge, Nudge
Hi Wisekwai, The Emmylou Harris discography talk page is waiting for your opinion on a few issues. It seems you, Rivertorch and I are doing all the work. So I don't want to jump without your input. Rubioblanca 19:59, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
Hi again Wisekwai, Please weigh in on the Music Charts question on the discography talk page. I'm going for a consensus on peak weeks and need help. Rubioblanca 16:38, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Merge template formet
Hi, I was cleaning up merge templates and I noticed that several by different editors have been formatted without closing "}}" (as per your edit to Sundance Film Festival). Is there any reason for this or is it just coincidence? Rich Farmbrough, 16:57 23 October 2007 (GMT).
Indonesian film
You're probably not interested but as you said you were involved with Asian films check out my latest work on Garin Nugroho have you heard of him? I've started his article and film box and some related films and people , Dongeng Kancil untuk Kemerdekaan , Daun di Atas Bantal , Puisi Tak Terkuburkan , Denias Senandung Di Atas Awan, Bulan Tertusuk Ilalang, Cinta Dalam Sepotong Roti, Sastha Sunu , Andi Rianto. A lot more work on Indonesian film needs doing at least to cover the most acclaimed and award winners - feel free to help out with any of Nugroho's films or indeed the article itself if you aren't too busy. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:27, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
p.s is there some kind od category for FIPRESCI winners? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:30, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
OK thanks. Yes as you know I've done a fair bit of work on Filipino films but when I have time I will be gradually developing Indonesian cinema a bit as it too seems far too underdeveloped. I'll try to get all the notable films into the lists and aim to start some of the articles. How are you these days are you still working on Thai film? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:44, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- I know that you had proposed a Thai cinema task force, but maybe it would be easier if it were a Southeast Asian cinema task force instead? It would be more inclusive and consolidated, instead of making many small task forces for countries with small to medium-sized industries. Thoughts? Girolamo Savonarola 05:37, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
This is a good idea. I wanted it to include more than Thailand which Wise works on as i do some work on Filipino, Indonesian films also. I also want to whip some of the more notable Malaysian films into shape some time . It would also include Singapore, Vietnam and Cmabodia I take it ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:49, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Yes I gathered you are very busy - ah thats life isn't it. I'm quite enjoying filling in Indonesian cinema some of the films particularly the horror films look good. There is something about South East Asian horror films that appeal to me - I enjoyed some of the Thai horror articles also -a shame I can't see the full films. I've been pretty busy today filling in articles like Usmar Ismail. I would definately like to set something up as I also aim to sort out Malaysian film also. I wasn't aware that Burma or Laos had any kind of industry whatsoever -but slap me in the face for relying on imdb -both countries probably have or had notable industries but for political reasons and other reasons there films are not out there. I'll wait for you to return fully before doing something. Meanwhile I'll continue to fill in some gaps and in the next few days try to start sorting out Malaysian film also ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:20, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Just wanted to remind you that Council proposals also have a section for task forces (as opposed to projects). I've moved SE Asian cinema there. Girolamo Savonarola 13:47, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
Whats the developments on this? I am also proposing to merge the Argentine task force into a Latin cinema task force to include Brazilian and Mexican film which I am recently working on and to merge in Spain, and Portugal. Also it has been brought to my attention the contibutions of User:Ekyaw who seems to be doing some loose stubs on Burmese actors. I deleted the Category:List of male actors from Myanmar just now - if you could check his editing from time to time this would help. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:24, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
I've created List of Burmese films using existing articles but it will need verifying. I don't think there are hardly any online Burmese cinema websites - I wonder where this Ekyaw person got them from ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:46, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Yes I also think it is exciting that somebody who appears to actually be from Burma can add his knowledge to a grossly underdeveloped area. I was a little surprised though that the task force needed a council proposal. Remember I only originally started the Argentine cinema task force page as a work page to highlight articles that need expanding, wikifying, creating etc for that industry. I didn't think or expect them to be considered as a formal task force or even a minor wiki project. For me it is all about organization and using it as a work page rather than a project ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:50, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
OK I've put the first Burmese film onto wikipedia Mystery of the Snow. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:16, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Perhaps you want to create a burmese film icon for the Template:CinemaofBurma?? I'm sure there is a lot more to the industry than what it seems like ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:21, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
OK yes I'm fully aware of the huge inadequacy of available info on Burmas films online. I am hoping that education and resources will improve enough in Burma to allow people to learn better english and have access to wikipedia and the web where people within the country who have a personal knowledge of the films can contribute. I imagine under the current regime this is impossible. Like Cambodia Burma appears to have had a very notable cinematic past but because of the political problems that have tormented these countrues it has ruined it or concealed it to the world . I figured there should be limited info available to start at least one or two. This is better than nothing I think ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:52, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Luckily Malaysian film has developed considerably since I last checked over six months ago. A few of them are even stub or B class. There is less work to be done on them than I thought although we are still missing a lot of notable titles. Soon enough we should have the basics of South Asian cinema under control , it is the Philippines for me that is missing the most in terms of content ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:12, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Yes from the ten minute clips I've seen of some Filpino films particularly of the 70s and 80s I have been very impressed with the atmosphere of them -themes of exploitation and social issues and a high degree of melodrama -some of them very artistically contructed. One film I saw I was deeply moved by - which has only enhanced my interest in South-East Asian film. If these countries had better financial resources dedicated to film I am certain we'd see some greater films. That Filipino director sounds interesting - I'd imagine that was at the Bangkok Film Festival was it? I'd love the chance to talk to a film director like that. Quentin Tarrantino is onto something there, for me talents can be seen across world film in different eras, in the western world the majority of us are far too narrow minded. For me there are indeed elements of certain world films that Hollywood could think about, however much it dominates world film ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:31, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
