Ponders End

Hi Wipsenade. Thanks for contribution to above article. Can't quite understand how the Potters Bar Today and the Hertfordshire Mercury are featured in your list of publications. Cheers (Northmetpit (talk) 16:01, 30 June 2011 (UTC)).

Errors. I got my places and tables muddeled up. It was corrected.Wipsenade (talk) 16:08, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi Wipsenade. Thanks for reply and correction of text. But you are still way out. Boreham Wood is nowhere near or anything to do with Ponders End apart from being located in England. Cheers.(Northmetpit (talk) 09:59, 1 July 2011 (UTC)).

Local newspapers

Hello, I've noticed you've added "Local newspapers" sections to some north London articles. In the handful I've checked, most of the newspapers added do not cover the relevant areas. Unless these sections can be corrected and fleshed out into full Media sections, in prose, I'm afraid I think they should be removed. Thanks Grim23 11:10, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

OK, remove them.Wipsenade (talk) 14:27, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

I deleated some my self just now.Wipsenade (talk) 14:41, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

Vidboy? VIDBOY? The troll/idiot that I fought (for the revolution, as I was in the mood, but then I stopped caring because of so much asshattery, by the various vidboys), basically alone, while the others were mostly ignoring him? And then you call me what, "disruptive"? God DAMN. You owe me some serious apology.

Remember: It's only me when it's good edits. If it's bad edits, it's not me. Just don't OFFEND me like that. --94.246.154.130 (talk) 00:27, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

Dear User: 94.246.154.130, I was referring to the edits made in 2008 and the deleted couple from 2009, not the edits from July 2011, which was after I put my comments up. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. Wipsenade (talk) 14:36, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

It was never proven, so User:Vidboy10 was not the same person.Wipsenade (talk) 16:54, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

Spelling

Hi there, Once more I must ask you to use a spellchecker or similar. With an edit like this from today ("He was concered by aleged press miss conduct as was his colegues Khalid Mahmood, MP for Perry Barr, and Sion Simon, the now former MP for Erdington"), you are simply creating more work for everyone else and showing very little respect for the project. I note that I'm not the only person to have asked this of you – if it continues you really do risk being banned for disruption. We do appreciate your contributions but it would be very easy for you to use a spellchecker, rather than relying on others to clear up your mess. It would have underlined concered by aleged press miss conduct as was his colegues. That's five errors in the space of nine words. Thanks, Ericoides (talk) 15:45, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on News International phone hacking scandal/Archive 1, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to an article talk page, file description page, file talk page, MediaWiki page, MediaWiki talk page, category talk page, portal talk page, template talk page, help talk, user page, user talk or special page from the main/article space.

If you can fix the redirect to point to a mainspace page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the article's talk page directly to give your reasons. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. DASHBot (talk) 18:00, 15 July 2011 (UTC)

News International phone hacking scandal

Fancy helping out on the News International phone hacking scandal page. 86.24.14.164 (talk) 19:34, 15 July 2011 (UTC)

Can I remove the News International phone hacking scandal page from WP Project Terrorism? I think it's outside our scope, as the hacking scandal was not a terrorist act. Any thoughts?Gee totes (talk) 02:35, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

OK. I was thinking of 9/11 and 7/7.Wipsenade (talk) 08:10, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

Talk:Wenzhou train collision

Hello Wipsenade:

I put a note on the Wenzhou train collision talk page relating to the POV flag you placed in the article. I thought it might be useful to mention this here.

I'm not making a judgement about whether or not the "Media Control" section is POV. My point is that posting that flag carries an obligation to say why you marked it as POV, so that the matter can be discussed.

Thank you, Wanderer57 (talk) 17:09, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

I tagged it since most appears to be in Chinese, so I can’t understand it, but by what I can gather the user is trying to accuse the Chinese government of a cover up. I was wondering if it was true, a political attack, off topic or just needs to be translated in to English?Wipsenade (talk) 17:18, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

Thanks. The haste to bury the train cars is quite remarkable. I wonder if there is some potential secret which they do not want brought to light or whether it is simply a matter of burying the cars so that more photographs of the wreckage cannot be taken. Wanderer57 (talk) 21:22, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

Is that you del what I writed in Wenzhou_train_collision

I should resaid that what I writed just translate from Chinese wikipedia! Media control is often happen in my country. --Lxr1234 (talk) 00:31, 26 July 2011 (UTC) 2011年7月25日 (一) 17:54 60.242.159.224 (讨论) (15,644字节) (removed POV section) (撤销) I find this,I'm sorry.shall I reocver what I write? --Lxr1234 (talk) 00:39, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Yes, you can recover what you write and put it back up. It was a bit strange to read. You have a good point about Media control. It has been found on other, English speaking, Google news pages that the Media is being controlled. I was personally only confused and needed translations.

Someone else has added this to the page and it covers Media control.Wipsenade (talk) 01:34, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Official media directives-

The Chinese authorities have been accused of attempting to silence reports into the cause of the crash. The Communist Party's propaganda department has reportedly ordered the media not to send reporters to the scene, not to report too frequently and not to link the story to high-speed rail development.[4][5] Reuters reported that the propaganda department issued directives to the nation's media instructing them to not question or elaborate on reports of the train crash. In their coverage, media were directed to promote the theme 'in the face of great tragedy, there's great love.'[6] Both the China_Digital_Times[7] and Boxun.com[8], had received attention from the Propaganda_Department_of_the_Communist_Party_of_China, saying they were required to do this.
