User talk:WilsonBaker
Hello and Welcome to Wikipedia!
It's great to read your response on Hairhorn's talk page. Please be aware that you are a reporter and it is your role and your job to investigate, to study court records, to interview victims and so on. Wikipedia has a policy against original research and as encyclopedists, we can only summarize what reliable sources (such as stories you might publish elsewhere) say. So, we have to be very careful in using primary sources such as court records, especially in a biography of a living person where our standards are stringent.
For our purposes, the kind of sources we need are books from reputable publishers, magazines and newspapers with professional editing and a reputation for fact checking, solid, professionally edited websites, and the like. Our job is to summarize what a wide sample of such sources say, adding solid references to make it possible for an interested reader to verify what we say.
If you publish anything new, please let us know. If you run across published work by other writers, please bring them to our attention. Any Wikipedia editor could contribute, but at this time you can assume that Hairhorn and I are on the "Kunes watch."
Warm regards to you. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:44, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
