Questions and comments

[edit]

Please leave your Questions or Comments on this page. It is best if you create a new section.

Dear Willmall, I'm not sure where I'm supposed to post this. I read your comment, and then the bio you posted. You certainly do represent what I and my students dreamed Wikipedia might be. It's a long time since I met anyone like that on Wiki.

Your comment involved a lot of work, and that bibliography should go in the article, if you have time. I learned from it. Your argument that Turkestan is a valid name in other senses than the political should go in too. Turkestan is a name comparable to "The Southwest" perhaps? I'm not convinced. Maybe I'll put this note to you on the discussion page too, and then we can share this enjoyable scholarly conversation with others. Profhum (talk) 21:08, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks :) .... WillMall (talk) 01:12, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article on Kalapas Hello WillMall, I just started to edit here in wikipedia yesterday, namely the article on Kalapas. Ukexpat said, that you added the final 'citation needed' request (proof that not subatomic particles are meant). Personally, I think the citations higher up already show why. Have a look at this: "And what is the earth property? The earth property can be either internal or external. What is the internal earth property? Anything internal, within oneself, that's hard, solid, & sustained [by craving]: head hairs, body hairs, nails, teeth, skin, flesh, tendons, bones, bone marrow, kidneys, heart, liver, membranes, spleen, lungs, large intestines, small intestines, contents of the stomach, feces, or anything else internal, within oneself, that's hard, solid, and sustained: This is called the internal earth property." Should I link to this again or do you think the above citation is sufficient? Thanks, PflasterStrand —Preceding unsigned comment added by PflasterStrand (talkcontribs) 21:58, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects

[edit]

Hi. Please don't just blank redirects (or any other page for that matter) like you did here. If you don't think it's suitable you could list it under WP:RfD. Thanks. -- Mentifisto 18:42, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ok, thanks for the link WillMall (talk) 18:44, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You mean the redirect should contain the article not where the article is at right now? I don't see any vandalism in relation to the redirect. -- Mentifisto 18:51, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes your right, the redirect should not be there. As you say, this is not explicit vandalism, but it is a pointless redirect and certainly not well intentioned. A quick scan of the discussion page shows consensus on this view. By the way, is there tag I can use that lets me reply on my page and also informs you that I replied? Thanks :) WillMall (talk) 19:14, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Then you should tag it for deletion (or, as always, open an RfD and the closing admin will delete it automatically if the discussion agrees) by probably using Template:Db-g6 (although you'd need to explain your rationale and point to the consensus). There's no tag besides Template:Talkback that can inform others. Usually I reply on my page when it's posted there and expect responses on others' if I begin them there (and since I began it here I continued it). -- Mentifisto 19:26, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thats helpful, Thanks. WillMall (talk) 19:38, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I added a map

[edit]

I added a map but it is deleted by you, It was in Turkic People page. It was the latest map i produced. And i used academic resources to produce this map. May I learn what is wrong with it? Maverick16 (talk) 20:49, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I did not delete it. Look at the page history [1]. The image you made is very good. But you must say where the information came from. The information must come from academic sources that can be verified. WillMall (talk) 21:26, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I understood but this takes too much time for me.. Thank you for your help in advance. Maverick16 (talk) 22:44, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There are many maps like this. http://img2.blogcu.com/images/t/u/r/turkgucu/turan_haritasi.jpg , http://www.yesiloren.org/turkler/ozelincelemeler/TurkDunyasi/TurkDunyasi.htm , http://www.turkishstates.com/ and http://gunesdili.blogspot.com/2007/02/dnyada-trke-konuan-milletler.html Maverick16 (talk) 23:08, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, WillMall! Sorry to disturb you, but I saw from this category that you are a member of WikiProject Turkey, and the List of sultans of the Ottoman Empire is currently a featured list candidate. If you could take some of your time and review it on its nomination page, I would be very grateful. Regards. --BomBom (talk) 02:56, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. Its a good list. Complies with list standards. Support. WillMall (talk) 14:20, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!

This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

  1. Adjust number of entries and days at Last unpatrolled
  2. Editor-focused central editing dashboard
  3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.
