Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, one or more of the external links you added to the page Oxford do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. andy 22:12, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- I see that you added links to many other articles. I've removed them all because Wikipedia must not be used for promotional purposes and if you try to do so you run the risk of being blocked from editing articles. andy 22:40, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Bath, Somerset. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a travel guide. These links are neither needed nor welcome. Simple Bob (talk) 10:24, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you insert a spam link, as you did to Truro, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing their websites from appearing on Wikipedia. You were warned back in September yet you persist in adding the same spam link. Please stop or you will be banned Simple Bob (talk) 10:25, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. GedUK 10:32, 7 December 2009 (UTC)Wikiwonka88 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
This is the first time I have seen any of the above, The link I entered is not a spamming site it is the National Park and Ride directory, which is backed by councils to promote the awareness of Park and Ride sites across the UK, in an effort to keep traffic out of our city centres inturn creating a greener environment. It's a voluntarily run site like wikipedia and not a commercial one
Decline reason:
I agree with everything Simple Bob says below. You have repeatedly inserted links into various articles, often more than once, often giving them prominence. The links lead to a site that simply takes the official council website and wraps it in frames. The frames then contain a lot of Google AdSense links. Nothing in this whole business suggests a confused new user who didn't find out until too late that his amateur site was unwanted here; everything suggests a semi-skilled SEO operation designed to promote a leech-site in order to make money. Nice try, but no coconut. Please note that we can add the site to our global blacklist at any time, which is something you, as an SEO, really don't want. ⬅ ❝Redvers❞ 13:02, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
I am not an admin, but let me add my two cents. You seem to be a single purpose account (WP:SPA) setup just to add a single external link to as many articles as possible. Those links add little or no value to the sites you added them to, so fail WP:ELNO on the very first of the listed criteria (as well as criteria #4 and #5). You were warned to stop (by me) and yet you carried on adding the links to three more sites after that. The only possible site where your link might add some value is Park and ride but even that is questionable. You say that the site is backed by councils yet there is no indication of this anywhere on the site. You say that the site is voluntarily run, yet it contains (in my opinion) an objectionable amount of advertising. If you are in any way connected with the site then you need to be aware of Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy (WP:COI and WP:EL#ADV). Bottom line, I think the admins were right in banning you and would object to your account being reinstated. --Simple Bob (talk) 09:25, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
