Universal log-in

[edit]

Re: my 3/2/2011 post at Wikimedia Commons I'm still trying to log into/merge my W. Commons account.

I followed Saibo's instructions there. Unfortunately, the two suggested steps just leave me in a circ/Catch 22 as the 2nd link ends up asking for the password to my Wikimedia Commons account in order to merge it with my Wikipedia account. I thought the passwords were the same and/or the accounts already merged. Evidently neither is true, but I apparently do have a W. Commons account. So how do I find out/change its password in order to access it/merge it into a universal account? Wikiuser100 (talk) 13:07, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Edit descriptions at the Sendai earthquake page

[edit]

Okay. I think you have a point there, I will try to make sure I'm not overly hostile in my edit descriptions. –flodded(gripe) 13:56, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Editing Schwäbisch Hall page

[edit]

I thought you might be interested in editing the Schwäbisch Hall as an editor living in the same state as Schwäbisch Hall and the fact that you are currently tied with User:Tillwe and an IP address for the second most edits in the article's history. I've done 55 edits which is mainly adding to the article and sourcing. Most of the sources and information is mainly from the city's website. Kingjeff (talk) 18:03, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mother of Fraternities

[edit]

Unless you can find evidence that Miami University of Ohio is NOT considered "Mother of Fraternities" [1], please do not remove it. It refers to two colleges. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.106.150.61 (talk) 04:35, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cited misattribution responded to at your Talk page this date. Wikiuser100 (talk) 11:01, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not a "new" user. I have been on Wikipedia since 2004. I no longer choose to log on to my account or edit on a consistent basis because I have been turned off by editors who seem to have their own agenda or muscle in their viewpoint. Your revert edit summary of "accepting valid cite of bogus attribution" just proves my point. It is not "bogus" and I take offense to that. It seems as though you are bias in claming that Union College is the college that many people call the Mother of Fraternities and that only "some" claim Miami University the "Mother of Fraternities" as well. Yet the just one fraternity of the Miami Triad alone has more members than any of the other Greek organizations founded at Union college combined. The point being that although the organizations in Union college were founded earlier, more people know Miami University as the Mother of Fraternities. It seems you edited that article without even looking into it. The article was perfectly fine for several years with a neutral tone until your edits. I've since changed the article again. 71.106.150.61 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 19:19, 14 May 2011 (UTC).[reply]
I've asked for other opinions in the WikiProject Fraternities and Sororities page. So far no one has answered it yet. Please feel free to take this discussion to other forums within Wikipedia which I have done. I just find it interesting that I'm trying to make the article into a more neutral point of view yet you are soooo insistent that Union College is the primary college that should bear the "Mother of Fraternities" moniker without absolutely ANY references or justification to that end except that it was founded before Miami University. I conceded that you may have a point, but it is an unsubstantiated claim. Not only do yo violate Wikipedia's policy on neutrality but it's policy on original research as well. Sorry, but as I said I will continue to revert until you can defend your edits with actual references stating that Union college is the Primary college for that moniker. 71.106.150.61 (talk) 18:26, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jefferson Duo

[edit]

Point taken. I went ahead and removed some superfluous refs at Triads_(fraternities)#Jefferson_Duo. I left Ref 8 (Phi Delta Theta 1886, which is not a member of the Jefferson Duo) and Ref 9 (Phi Gamma Delta - 1922) for the first sentence. I left Ref 10 (Phi Gamma Delta (modern) because it references the Kappa Phi Lambda, the third fraternity in the "Triad". --GrapedApe (talk) 04:03, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Good show. Cheers. Wikiuser100 (talk) 00:10, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Indian Trade

[edit]

This article has been rescued from being merged to fur trade, but it clearly needs some help. Also, you left some cryptic words in the talk page there. Could you explain them to me. --Kevlar (talkcontribs) 06:55, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Responded to on the Indian Trade Talk page; note left on your Talk page. Apology for delay in responding.Wikiuser100 (talk) 21:16, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, this message is to let you know about disambiguation links you've recently created. A link to a disambiguation page is almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. For more information, see the FAQ or drop a line at the DPL WikiProject.

hotels in london

[edit]

you made a sweeping removal of a complete section with no real explanation other than to say 5 star hotels in London. The removed section was on 5 stars hotels in London. can you explain their removal. Thanks. Thundernlightning (talk) 11:09, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

George Grantham

[edit]

Greetings, Wikiuser100. Thanks for creating the George Grantham article. I'm proposing that the article be renamed. Feel free to join the discussion, at Talk:George Grantham (Poco)#Proposed rename. Mudwater (Talk) 01:44, 25 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

My oversight in not having named it George Grantham (musician) at creation. I have so attested at the Talk page. Thanks for pointing it out. Cheers. Wikiuser100 (talk) 03:21, 25 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
