Welcome!
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, Wikislemur! I am Marek69 and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

- Haha, you are unbelievably fast! I replied you there. Thanks!! Wikislemur (talk) 12:07, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
User Page
[edit]The link to whois is unneeded. Go to any IP's talk page and it's at the bottom of the page. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 14:35, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
- Wow, I don't know that anybody actually read my user page :) What about the IPs that the talk page is still empty? Is it there too? I just checked and can't find it (I might be a little blind!) Wikislemur 14:43, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
- I just logged off and checked my IP. No, it needs to have a talk page created. If it's blanked, that's fine. I'll go give my IP a talk page and show you. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 14:57, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
- Done. See under my comment the little box saying "This is the discussion page for an IP user..."? That appears on every IP talk page. There's a lot of little external links in the box: WHOIS, RBLs, Traceroute, et cetera. As far as I can see, the only one that's needs for mere non-admins like us would by WHOIS, but I'm not sure. I've only really started looking at these myself. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 15:02, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

- I see the link to the WHOIS! Thanks to show me that. I think it will be nice if they do the same (I mean, having the link) to the IP without talk page yet, sometimes it's nice to know a little about who we are dealing with.
- Now I will go to your page to leave you the notification, but I think you might somehow read this note first before I manage to go to your page :)Wikislemur (talk) 15:14, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
- You're on my watchlist, which is how I spotted the whois thing when it appeared. :P And typed in a clearly fake IP, and yes, my mistake. The box is there too. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 15:18, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
- Yep, the second talkback ({{talkback|wikislemur}}) was correct. You can also shorten it simply to "{{Tb|wikislemur}}". Finally, you can use them for articles too. For example, say you left a question at the talk page for Dragon Age: Origins and it was urgent you saw the response, I'd put a Tb template here with the coding {{Tb|Talk: Dragon Age: Origins}}. However, for articles, it is vital you put the "Talk:" prefix into it. Otherwise, it think's there's a user called "Dragon Age: Origins". As for messing up my page, don't worry. It wasn't that big an issue and I delete talkbacks rapidly anyway. Just be sure to use the preview button in future. :) --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 15:25, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Heheh, you must saw many of my random user page edit then. Still learning. Thanks a lot for the tb for article talk page too, that will be really useful when I do more than just minor edits. And yeah, I have to admit sometimes I skipped preview button..Wikislemur (talk) 15:34, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
- As I said, any more questions, you know where to find me. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 15:40, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks :) Wikislemur (talk) 15:44, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
- If you have my page on your watchlist, tell me. That way, it saves me time making this and saves you time deleting them. :) --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 03:21, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite
[edit]Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:59, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
