It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 16:47, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

For your terrific efforts to enhace WikiProject Journalism, including creation of newspaper article editing guidelines and a project userbox, Thanks! -Tobogganoggin talk 00:52, 27 March 2007 (UTC) |
WikiProject Journo
I completely agree about involving more folks in the discussion (and sorry if I sort of monopolized the response to your guidelines); making that happen is a whole 'nother thing. I've recently run around advertising the Journalism {{portal}} on most of the general topic articles (and {{JournProjectArticles}} on the corresponding talk pages), so hopefully that will draw more attention to the portal, the project, and your guideline proposal, but only time will tell. It wouldn't hurt to tag the talk pages of more articles about specific newspapers (very few have already been hit), or even post specific requests for input there as well.
There's probably a more formal way to "run it up the flagpole" so to speak, maybe through the village pump, but I haven't found it yet. Eventually, I guess it could even be taken to WP:MOS (just check out this or even this!), but these things do appear to get hashed out on project pages first. Meanwhile, we could ask the other 14 project members directly, and I can think of a few others I've bumped into here and there who might be interested in helping out, so I'll try to contact them in the next few days. Especially I would think those who've edited some of the templates listed here might be candidates. Hope this helps!
As for the barnstar: I know it's not the most objective award, but until now I'd never given one out, and since I really appreciate what you're trying to do, I thought you were worthy. :) -Tobogganoggin talk 03:35, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Hello Wiki Wistah, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Titanoplanet.JPG) was found at the following location: User:Wiki Wistah/Newspaper articles. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 01:41, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
More Props for Wiki Wistah
So I'm blogging about how bad my local fishwrap has become, and I'm looking to see if RISN has any kinda website. Instead I find a -- what? -- Wikipedia page about them. And all the little papes they snatched up.
You, mon ami, are one impressive wikipedian.
BTW, I was the fill-in bass player for The Aggressions at Ralph's 20th Anniversary whatnot.
Yours,

Navbox generic
Regarding your question about my updating Template:Blethen from {{Dynamic navigation box}} to {{Navbox generic}}, there is nothing wrong with using the former, but it doesn't do anything the latter can't. I changed it because there is a move to consolidate the large number of navigational templates, which also include {{Dynamic navigation box with image}}, {{Navigation}}, {{Navigation with image}}, {{NavigationBox}}, etc. One discussion about this can be found at Wikipedia talk: Navigational templates #Style guideline for footer templates. -- Zyxw 03:23, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
Archiving Talk pages is a good thing
thx! EspanaViva 04:58, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks!
Hey Wistah, thank you for honoring me with the barnstar recently. I've been somewhat inactive on the 'pedia lately, but I did check out your second draft of the newspaper article guideline. I thought I might be able to comment again after some time to think about it, but nothing came to mind and I ended up distracted elsewhere. So, I apologize for not replying sooner, but you've already incorporated everything that might have occurred to me. Congratulations on the completion of a thoughtful, well-written essay that will surely be of help future editors for a long time to come! -Tobogganoggin talk 23:54, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Re: External link(s)
Well, there is a guideline that says "links" in the title should be always be plural: Wikipedia:External_links#External_links_section. I'm a WikiGnome, so I guess nitpicking comes with the territory... :-) GregorB 16:29, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Newsquest Titles and Place Names
If I'd have known how how to, I'd have built a table for Newsquest.
As the Gannett table on the Newsquest entry is a sea of redlinks, which hardly builds confidence in the Wikipedia, I did what I could to make it black, blue or, at least, intelligible. As the old Southern Newspapers group, which is now part of Newsquest, owned the Echo, Southampton, the Echo, Bournemouth and the Echo, Weymouth, the place names for them becomes vital – or you get Echo, Echo, Echo, which is made less Alpine-sounding by the fact that there's a fourth Echo – the Basildon/Southend Echo, which Newsquest picked up as part of Westminster Press.
As a newspaper journalist, I can assure you that that the town name appended to a title – as in "News Letter, Belfast" or "The Journal, Newcastle" – is the norm because most papers are called Echo, Guardian, Times, Journal, News or some such. I think only Stockport has/had a paper with a unique name – the Visitor.
It was because of the size of Gannett table on the Newsquest entry that I restrained myself from adding Newsquest's other businesses – such as Southernprint – from it, although much of the table is filled with the US TV stations Gannett owns and is irrelevant to the Newsquest entry.
I'm sorry if my attention to detail upset you.

USRD Inactivity check and news report
Hello, Wiki Wistah. We had a few urgent matters to communicate to you:
- Please update your information at Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/Participants, our new centralized participant list. Those who have not done so by October 20th will be removed.
- There are important discussions taking place at WT:USRD relating to whether WP:USRD, WP:HWY, or the state projects should hold the "power" in the roads projects.

Sun Newspapers
Hmm ... did I write that? I guess I did. It was something management often told us when I worked there, which was almost ten years ago, so it may not be true anymore. Is it on the website or something? If not, feel free to take it out. Daniel Case 07:00, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
