"Idols Standing"

I removed the Idols Standing charts you added for seasons 5 and 6. The problem is that they are redundant to the elimination charts we already have. Just no reason to have 2 charts that say basically the same thing. --WoohookittyWoohoo! 14:18, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Incorrect formatting of headers

Per your edits to Sean Astin and Elisha Cuthbert: The manual of style dicatates the section headers are not all in capitals. For instance it should be written External links and not External Links. I have reverted your changes. IrishGuy talk 18:27, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Likewise for 24 (TV series) - the incorrect formatting has been reverted. You may wish to read through the Manual of Style before making any further changes. --Ckatzchatspy 18:32, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

You can visit Special:Log to find out what other than edits has happened to any page you like (place the page's name in the 'Title' field); in the case of images, the upload and deletion of the image are the two things most likely to be there. --ais523 11:04, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

How do I become a moderator?

N' how do ya put those icons, ie: This page is move protected., 100% drama free zone!, The Penguin Cabal, April 16, 2007 - never forget, on the top of the page?

First, to become a mediator, you need to apply to Wikipedia:Mediation Committee. To become an administrator, apply on WP:RFA. Second, the page is designed by personal preference. Also, please get involved in editing and improving articles as well as be familiar with Wikipedia related policies. This is shown in your welcome message you have already deleted in your history. Wow! I asked so many questions today. Anyway, how do I request a page for deletion?
(edit conflict) There are three possible ways. In a few specific circumstances, such as if the page is purely vandalism or nonsense, you can put a specific 'speedy-delete' tag on the page an an admin will delete it as soon as they come across the page (many admins monitor a relevant category to find such tagged pages). Otherwise, in noncontroversial cases when the article hasn't been nominated for deletion before, you can request a deletion by placing {{subst:prod|your reason for deletion}} on the page; if the tag stays there for 5 days and nobody removes it (and anyone is allowed to remove it) the article will be deleted. In controversial cases, or if the prod tag is removed, you can use the Articles for Deletion process; see Template:AfD in 3 steps for instructions. There are other processes for non-articles; see WP:XFD. Hope that helps! --ais523 13:16, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Your talk page has been protected due to overuse of the {{helpme}} template. We try to see that everybody needing help gets a fair share of the finite amount of time our Volunteer Helpers give. This protection is temporary and will expire in a week, it doesn't prevent you from editing, in the interim, I would suggest reading Help:Contents or use Wikipedia:Help desk to learn all about Wikipedia. Infobox FOX

Sorry to tell you this, but your changes to a number of FOX television series articles have been reverted. Television articles are formed under the guidelines of the Television Wikiproject, which has developed a standardized template for the series infobox. There should be discussion and consensus before replacing the standard 'box with a customized one. Thanks. --Ckatzchatspy 06:16, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary. Thank you. Kudret abi 18:01, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi, please don't add a non-free content image to this article. Since this article is about a living person a non-free image fails Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria#1. Also, could you perhaps use more edit summaries, it really makes it easier for other editors. Thanks, Garion96 (talk) 18:18, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

As mentioned before, please do not add a non-free image to the infobox of the Sarah Wayne Callies article. Non-free images of living persons are not allowed there per Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria#1. Thanks you and feel free to leave me a message on my talk. Garion96 (talk) 14:41, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

It's a bit double I admit. The rationale is that for the fictional character image no free content replacement can be found, but an image for the actress can. Therefore the non-free image is allowed in the Dr. Sara Tancredi article but not in the infobox of the Sarah Wayne Callies article. Garion96 (talk) 16:16, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

This is your last warning.
The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Template:Infobox actor, you will be blocked from editing. Kudret abi 09:14, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Regarding your question, please read Help:Templates. First of all you cannot just rename parameters to what you want. There are thousands of articles using this template and if you rename a parameter then those using that parameter will not display correctly any more. And you need to discuss syntax changes such as color, formatting etc. in the talk page and seek consensus. And you must provide an edit summary to your edits so that everyone knows what you are doing. Currently what you are doing at {{Infobox actor}} looks like edit tests and persistently repeating the same behavior despite all the warnings and explanations provided to you is vandalism. Please refrain from repeating this behavior if you do not wish to be perceived as a vandal which will eventually yield to a block. Best, --Kudret abi 08:57, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

3RR

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Elisha Cuthbert. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nat.tang (talkcontribs)

Last chance Wiikipedian. Next time you revert an edit without discussion and consensus, you'll be blocked. --DarkFalls talk 09:50, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Because of your persistent unexplained reversions to this article, and to the Actor Infobox Template, you are at present very close to being blocked fromn editing. Would you please, in future, discuss these type of changes in the appropriate article talkpage rather than just making them? Thank you. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 09:51, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Elisha Cuthbert

In your unblock request (which you have now removed from your talkpage), you asked "why must we put replace this image female.svg ? I mean some of the articles don't have this even they don't have a photo. ". If you had looked at the Elisha Cuthbert article history you would see that there have been repeated edits to put non-free images, including images of her 24 (TV Series) character. As you already know from your discussion with Garion96 concerning Sarah Wayne Callies [1] [2] [3], such an image is acceptable in the article of a notable character, but not for the living person, as on the living person's page, it's not considered fair use. See also WP:NFCC criterion #1. In the case of Elisha Cuthbert, there have been repeated attempts to put some kind of non-free image there. Therefore, to remind future editors that only a free image was acceptable, the "no free image" image, and associated comment were added. That's not been put on other pages because there hasn't been a history of a problem. I hope this helps clarify the situation for you.— Timotab Timothy (not Tim dagnabbit!) 18:15, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Plus you need to ask these questions on the talk page of the corresponding article, which is Talk:Elisha Cuthbert for this case. Reverting until you get blocked and only then asking the admin what was wrong with what you did is not the right way to go. --Kudret abi 23:08, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi Wiiikipedian. I put the female.svg image there. Why didn't you just ask me why? User:Timotab is correct, and this is exactly what I was thinking when I added it. ie free images had been removed several times, and editors did not get the message. I thought this would point well-intentioned editors in the right direction. I noticed your edit summary clearly stated the message about not using unfree images, but edit summaries, although essential, quickly become a part of the edit history that many people don't look at. Two days later someone thinks they've got a really cool Elisha Cuthbert pic, and as quickly as you can say "let's upload this unfree image", it's sitting there in the article. Maybe the female.svg image makes some editors stop and think about it, and alerts them to aspects of our fair use policy that they might not be aware of. Next time, try asking a few questions before you throw yourself into the firing line. Rossrs 00:04, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

No, if I thought that I would not have done it. I explained why I added it, but I don't really understand your question. Can you please explain what you mean? Rossrs 13:24, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

Edit Summaries

Hi Wiikipedian. I have a request - please could you add edit summaries when you make edits, even for something minor? it helps people understand why you're making the edit, and makes it much easier to understand an article's history. Hey, I've a question, I've propose a suggestion on a template talk page but I get no reply. Can I still perform the changes to the template? If so, how long do we've to wait before we can perform the changes? Ty! :)

Which template? :-) Stwalkerster talk 14:23, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
{{Infobox actor}}
I presume that you are referring to {{infobox actor}}. That template is used on many thousands of pages, and the change you suggested was to modify the parameters that the template accepts. This would break current usage, so it wouldn't be wise to change it without very good reason and some discussion. As to the merits of your idea itself: I don't think that would be a good idea. Imagine if the image were a landscape. Then any particular fixed width might make the image far too short to be useful. Better to leave it alone, I'd say. --Sopoforic 14:27, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Is self revert count as a revert which will cause 3RR?

From the 3RR page: "...consecutive reverts by one editor are often treated as one revert for the purposes of this rule." While it should be avoided (perhaps by preparing large edits in a user subpage beforehand), it's not going to get you in trouble unless you get REALLY out of hand with it. Edit Summaries

Please, please, please can you fill in your Edit Summary when you make an edit. It makes it much easier for people to see why you made an edit and what your intention was — otherwise, some of your edits seem to be just for the sake of making them without any real purpose in mind, and that can get people annoyed. I asked you before,[4] and you said you would,[5] but you still fail to do so.[6]Timotab Timothy (not Tim dagnabbit!) 17:01, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Penitenciaria Federal de Sona, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Penitenciaria Federal de Sona is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Penitenciaria Federal de Sona, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Help me understand

Hi Wiikipedian,

Please help me understand. You've been asked, repeatedly, to only put in an imagesize parameter if the image is landscape format, or is otherwise broken without it. Why, then do you keep on putting it in for the Elisha Cuthbert article? You never leave an WP:ES, even though you've been asked, and whenever someone questions something you do on your talk page, instead of answering it, you just blank the page. These two things combined means it's hard to understand why you are making these changes. If people understood your reasons we could either agree with you and see that what you are doing is indeed correct, or we could properly help you improve your editing style for the benefit of everyone. Editors try to assume good faith with others, but when someone consistently makes the same kind of change, after being requested to several times not to, and never responding to criticism or showing a willingness to learn more of the Wikipedia culture from more experienced editors, it gets harder to make that assumption, as it makes it look like you are making the changes capriciously, rather than through a desire to improve Wikipedia. I look forward to understanding you a little better. — Timotab Timothy (not Tim dagnabbit!) 14:33, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

but you are not the only person using wikipedia. If you think it's too small, you should be arguing the case for changing the default on Template talk:Infobox actor page, rather than repeatedly overriding the default on the pages you look at frequently. — Timotab Timothy (not Tim dagnabbit!) 14:50, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Well said, I second that. You have been reverted for this change (and others) many times by many different editors, with ample explanation as to why what you did was not right. You keep repeating the same behavior. And you keep doing things without edit summaries. You need to stop. --Kudret abi 18:39, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Comma

I've reverted your edits on Comma. Please see the talk page for details. — Timotab Timothy (not Tim dagnabbit!) 11:20, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

I call on both you and User: Jtres21 to stop this daft edit war and to discuss the issue and form a concensus. Continuing reversion is going to force me to protect the article and put warning templates on both your pages, and I don't want to do that. Please discuss without reverting? Read the talk page where I have laid out a ground rule. SGGH speak! 11:29, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Access date in web citations

Hi Wiikipedian,

Just to let you know that the "access date" part of a web citation is the date that you looked at the article on the web, not the date that the article was written. So, if you looked at an article today in order to get your information, the "accessyear" and "accessmonthday" attibutes would be "2007" and "September 15" respectively, regardless of when the article was written.  — Timotab Timothy (not Tim dagnabbit!) 06:59, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Your image uploads

Hi there, I notice you upload many unfree images but do not add the appropriate fair use rationales. I will leave you some uploader hints below so you can complete the process properly in future. Please be warned that further incomplete image uploads may result in a short block in order to prevent further violations of copyright policy. Please ask me if you have any questions regarding this. Advice on uploading images

Hello!

Thanks for uploading some pictures to Wikipedia. I wanted to make sure you were aware of some of the requirements and good practices for uploaded images.

  • Pick an image name.
When uploading an image, pick a file name that is descriptive, and unique. Remember that many images may be uploaded about the same topic, and remember that names are case sensitive.
  • Source the image.
On the image description page, explain where the image came from. If you created the image yourself, then say so. If it's from the web, give a URL. If it's a screenshot of a movie or game, or a scan from a book, give the title.
  • Provide copyright and license information.
This part is a little bit trickier, but it's very important. The copyright of the image generally belongs to whoever created it.
If it's a photograph you took, or an image you created (modifying an image that already exists doesn't count) in software like Photoshop or GIMP, then you own the copyright. To upload it to Wikipedia, you must agree to license it under the GFDL (which allows anyone to use it, but requires that they give credit to the original author and requires that any further edit to the image be licensed under the GFDL as well) or release it into the public domain (which allows anyone to use it for any purpose without restriction.) Do this by placing an appropriate tag on the image description page, like {{GFDL}} or {{PD-self}}. Be sure to mention that you created the image. If you're using {{PD-self}}, you may also want to use {{NoRightsReserved}}, since there is some dispute as to whether one may grant items into the public domain.
If you didn't create the image, or the copyright somehow belongs to another party (like a screenshot, which you might "create", but the copyright belongs to the author of the movie or video game), then you need to find another tag that describes the copyright status of the image. Images used on Wikipedia need to be free for our use and the use of sites which reproduce our content. This means that images cannot have a restriction such as "only for use by Wikipedia", or "for non-commercial use only", or "for educational use". Images without a free license may be usable in certain articles under our policy for non-free content, but such a use must be justified on the image description page.
  • Describe the image.
To another reader, the image may not be immediately understood. A caption in an article doesn't explain the image to a visitor who sees it on its image page. Put a brief explanation of what is in the image on the image description page, similar to what you might include in a caption on an article.

Talk page blanking

I assume this means you have read all the information, and will now go and add rationales to all your images, and continue to do so henceforth. Please be warned that if you do not do so, you will be blocked. ~ Riana 13:25, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Rationales

Have you seen this section? You merely need to fill in the appropriate blank sections. Try it on an image and see how it goes, and let me know, I'll check it for you. ~ Riana 13:32, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Two and a Half Men 505.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Two and a Half Men 505.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:49, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Your Image

If you want your image deleted, you can tag it for speedy deletion under WP:CSD#G7, or simply ask an admin to delete it for you. SashaCall 18:53, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

A friendly warning

I would advise you to read WP:SOCK in regards to your use of the alternate account FinaleFever (talk · contribs). As you have made only a few edits with it, and only one of them was to influence a vote, you can probably get away with just asking an admin to block it for you. Brad 12:45, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

Interview on Wikinews

Hello, did you post Interview with James Kyson Lee aka ANDO from HEROES? If so you will need to obtain the permission of Matt Sernaker for its use there under CC-BY-2.5 before it can be published. Please do so quickly, or we will have to consider it a copyright violation. Cheers, --SVTCobra (talk) 15:16, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Matt Sernaker said I may redistribute it under the GPL. http://phpnuke.org/files/gpl.txt Wikipedian 02:03, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Can you get Matt Sernaker to send an e-mail to Wikinews confirming this permission? --SVTCobra (talk) 03:58, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
On http://www.comicsonline.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=474, scroll to the bottom of the page n' you'll see "This is free software, and you may redistribute it under the GPL." Wikipedian 06:21, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
That's for the software that runs ComicOnline, it does not pertain to the content. Sorry. --SVTCobra (talk) 14:24, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Penitenciaria Federal de Sona.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Penitenciaria Federal de Sona.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 16:53, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi there, I notice that you were the last person to edit this template, and I wonder if you can help me. I have just added another article related to Blunt, James Blunt: Return to Kosovo, which is a documentary in which Blunt is featured. I believe it should probably be included into the template, but to be honest I am sure I would probably break it if I tried to do it myself. Could you please take a look at the template again and add it in if you think it is appropriate? Thanks. Risker (talk) 05:03, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

24 redirects

I have removed the speedy deletion tags from the two 24 redirects. I'm not sure why you tagged these for deletion. If you wish for them to be deleted, list them at WP:RFD. --- RockMFR 06:19, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi, you've tagged this twice as an implausible typo. I made the redirect initially because an article was requested under this misspelling. It's a frequent mistaken spelling of her name. Chubbles (talk) 14:45, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

RFD

I'm curious why you are putting the {{db-redirtypo}} tag on Maroon5. It doesn't seem to fit the template's stated purpose at all. Gnome de plume (talk) 14:02, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

Ditto for hips dont lie. Take it to WP:RFD if necessary. Pegasus «C¦ 14:10, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

RFD

Please note that the CSD criterion you are citing says "It is a recently-created redirect page". If you really want these deleted, go to WP:RFD, though getting these deleted is pretty pointless. John Reaves 07:47, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
