License tagging for Image:Sewing 01.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Sewing 01.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

A tag has been placed on Alan Lodge, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable. If you can indicate why Alan Lodge is really notable, you can contest the tagging. To do this, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and leave a note on Talk:Alan Lodge, explaining how Alan Lodge is notable. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.
Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, articles #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.TheRingess 21:14, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- I saw your note on my page. I'm sure that an admin will help decide the case. In the meantime, you might continue to add soruces and expand and cleanup the article. I reinstated the tag because the guidelines ask editors not to remove the tag from articles they themselves create.
Ok cheers. I will tidy up the artcile now and leave the tags
prod
[edit]I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Veggies Catering Campaign, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at [[Talk:Template:Prod]]. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. -- WVhybrid 17:07, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
Self promotion
[edit]It has become clear that you have been making substantial edits to one or more articles about groups with which you are directly involved. Make sure that you are not contravening Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Carl Timothy Jones 22:56, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Deletion for this page?
[edit]Hiya, I have been working on a page on wikipedia for the last 4 months about a group that has done a lot of pioneering work in Britain on creative activism/performance. Now it is up for deletion. I'm not quite sure why. As far as I can see I have followed the guidelines. I have just very factually given an overview of the work this organisation does and referenced info as much as possible. What can I do to make the article better? And who judges whether a group is 'Non-notable group' ? As far as I can see you have removed a box for deletion that User:Carl_Timothy_Jones added. Also, now I look at it, this user seems to have registered a few days ago and pretty much nominated all articles I've worked on for deletion. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Carl_Timothy_Jones
What can I do? WietsE 21:16, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- Telling me which article you're talking about would be a good start. You can also post on WP:ANI if you think someone is harassing/stalking you. Stifle (talk) 20:38, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- Cheers Stifle, it's already been dealt with. The AfD has been removed: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Mischief_Makers&diff=93551487&oldid=93452246

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Climate Camp 03.jpg, by SqueakBox (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Climate Camp 03.jpg fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Climate Camp 03.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 00:39, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Arts Council England Logo blk.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Arts Council England Logo blk.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:36, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Image permission problem with Image:Climate Camp 04.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Climate Camp 04.jpg, which you've sourced to indymedia.org.uk. I noticed that that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 14:28, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

NowCommons: File:064.jpg
[edit]File:064.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Nottingham bus.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Nottingham bus.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 10:17, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File:Climate Camp 03.jpg listed for discussion
[edit]A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Climate Camp 03.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for discussion. Please see the discussion to see why it has been listed (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry). Feel free to add your opinion on the matter below the nomination. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:59, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
The file File:Dovelogo.gif has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:02, 27 May 2019 (UTC)
Image source problem with File:Skyline7.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Skyline7.jpg.
This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.
While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.
If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:01, 17 November 2024 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. mattbr 17:01, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
