TFA vandal
[edit]Hey WAMB, FYI: if you see an IP user vandalise the Today's Featured Article in a style like this, don't warn them, just report them to WP:AIV as the TFA vandal. An unknown person has been vandalising TFA since 1-2 weeks ago every day around 2:00-5:00 (UTC). Deny them any recognition by just reverting them and having them blocked. Trolls love warnings. --MrClog (talk) 12:38, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for the heads-up! Might you have a list of exceptions in which a warning need not be handed out, and block immediately? WhoAteMyButter (📬) 21:39, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
- There is a list of long-term abusers although this one is not on there. However, don't bother looking at the list - if you need to know any of them, you'll learn it by experience. --MrClog (talk) 22:32, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
Clarification
[edit]I think I see where you were confused. You may have thought that I was this IP because both my IP and that IP start with "2601". I'm just doing anti-vandalism patrolling and that's how I came across the attacks from 60.242.199.114. Anyhow, it's probably best if we just ignore the trolls and let them get themselves blocked. :-) 2601:1C0:1:2991:B8E5:4DEF:55C5:3438 (talk) 06:15, 16 May 2020 (UTC)
- Their IP is 60.242. Yours is 2601. They made an attack on a page, you undid it. Unless IPs are displaying wrongly for me, this is really confusing. WhoAteMyButter (📬│✏️) 06:17, 16 May 2020 (UTC)
- Oh well. They just got blocked. WhoAteMyButter (📬│✏️) 06:18, 16 May 2020 (UTC)
