Talk Page

[edit]

Lots of users use that method, the conversation isn't meant to be read by users other than the ones involved so there's no problem in it.--Andeh 12:08, 26 June 2006 (UTC-4)

OK, I probably won't be able to sway you..--Andeh 12:28, 26 June 2006 (UTC-4) *sulks off*
Just to drop in as an uninvolved third person, who found this conversation interesting but hard to follow ;) My usual policy is to reply on the other person's talk page and copy the reply onto mine. That means I get a complete record of the conversation. It is quite common that I find myself referring back to past conversations, so that's pretty useful. My talk page gets pretty busy as well so it would take me ages if I wanted to track down replies all over the place. Also what Where said, I think of my talk page as a bit of a history of me, I can see what I've been involved with etc. Petros471 12:37, 26 June 2006 (UTC-4)

You are wrong, he did not listen to me

[edit]

I have to remove his illegal warning because I have a permission from Wikipedia in Florida. He committed a crime by making discriminating and he failed to listening to me so I have to call Wikipedia again tomorrow to file a complaint against him and I am going to sue him. do you want to join him? I was very angry when he called pages "my private pages" which are not mine. I want these illegal warnings be removed or I will ask wikipedia to do. user:cculber007

Sorry to bother you...

Hi Where! I was the [annoying] wikipedian {for lack of better word} who needed you to revise my sig. Since I can't test it on my userpages, I was hoping to use this as a test space (just once or twice, I promise).

Thanks.

P.S.For some reason, doing it in the sandbox caused some kind of wiki formatting failure or something.

Don't worry. You aren't being annoying in the least (quite the opposite!) :). By the way, you can create your own sandbox to experiment in if you want at User:Tyson Moore/Sandbox (or any other subpage of your user page). Happy editing! -- Where 22:00, 28 June 2006 (UTC-4)

RC Perl

[edit]

Maybe for the AIV perl script, you can have it import the list of admins and check that instead of telling of it's an admin from the edit summary. --GeorgeMoney (talk) (Help Me Improve!) 01:31, 1 July 2006 (UTC-4)

Thanks for the suggestion :). I will definately do this if I find that the script does not work well enough as is; however, all admins are required to leave summaries when editing AIV that say whether the list is empty. When I tested it, it seemed to work fine; but if things go awry, I will keep in mind your suggestion. Thanks again! -- Where 11:03, 1 July 2006 (UTC-4)

I really do not think unblocking him would be a good idea. He just sent me another abusive email with another legal threat and such language as "God does not approve of you". This doesn't make me feel comfortable about what he'd do once unblocked. --InShaneee 18:29, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not at all comfortable with that idea. He's clearly telling you one thing while continuing to misbehave, and I have great confidence that he would simply continue if unblocked. --InShaneee 20:28, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, but the simple fact is that I got over a dozen legal threats from him, as well as an email from wikipedia's legal representative, whom he called to threaten as well. This sounds like more than a clear-cut indef block situation. --InShaneee 20:44, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A question on your conflict with Whoermaster

[edit]

Hi, on your recent RfA, you mentioned a conflict with Whoermaster. I was wondering if, at the time, you noticed that Whoermaster was a new user? Thanks! Armedblowfish (talk|mail|contribs) 21:32, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The following was copied from my talk page: Yes; I was aware at the time that he was a new user, and I acted accordingly by repeatedly explaining Wikipedia policy. Cheers, -- Where 23:31, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Looking at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jew-fro, I would reccomend being a bit more patient with newbies. They may not have been sockpuppets, they might have been meatpuppets. If so, then the term "sockpuppet" or "meatpuppet" could possibly be scaring away a newcomer, when we could accomplish the same goal of discounting their opinions more politely, such as with Template:afdanons, and explaining to them that because they are new, their opinions will probably be discounted by the closing administrator, but they are welcome to share their opinion anyways. Anyways, just my two cents. : ) Armedblowfish (talk|mail|contribs) 23:55, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Good point; I should have done it. I didn't know about that template back then and my actions were probably influenced by the (pretty nasty!) personal attacks that I was a target of. Nevertheless, I will go the extra mile to make sure that nothing like that happens again. Thanks for pointing that out! -- Where 00:01, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Just FYI, if your RfA were still open, I would have voted oppose, but then struck that out and voted support per your willingness to change. Hopefully you won't have to deal with too many personal attacks as an administrator, but admins do seem to be targets, so the best of luck! 1. Remember you will always protect the wrong version.
  2. Remember you must always follow the rules, except for when you ignore them. You will always pick the wrong one to do. (See #5)
  3. Remember to assume good faith and not bite. Remember that when you are applying these principles most diligently, you are probably dealing with a troll.
  4. Use the block ability sparingly. Enjoy the insults you receive when you do block.
  5. Remember when you make these errors, someone will be more than happy to point them out to you in dazzling clarity and descriptive terminology.
  6. and finally, Remember to contact me if you ever need assistance, and I will do what I am able.

After reporting these users to WP:AIV you removed them because the "evidence of sock puppetry is not concrete." I would contest that:

  • 67.32.172.177 said "good job" at User talk:CNN 5 after...
  • CNN 5 made the exact same edits to the exact same articles.

It seems the evidence is pretty clear to me. --Chris (talk) 01:08, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also please note that I put "sockpuppets" in double quotes because technically they are not sock puppets, since it could be said that the user created a user account for himself. But they are certainly the same person, which is what I meant. --Chris (talk) 01:10, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

jordanjames

[edit]

Jordanjames just messed with Jake's page a few minutes ago after I posted a warning, see history for details.

Also, the Ted Casablanca thing looks good but isn't: Ted runs a Blind Item column in which he has been alluding to a bisexual actor called Toothy Tile for a year. This is what jordanjames means. While it IS almost certain Toothy Tile is Jake (and his boyfriend may well be Austin - there are many, very obvious, clues that point to them), this cannot be verified in a way that can added to Wikipedia. It's deliberately deceptive. This is why I'm concerned, because jordanjames is adding this thing on a basis that cannot be used in Wikipedia. Dev920 19:31, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Copyvios

[edit]

The copyvio tag clearly states that "simply modifying copyrighted text is not sufficient to avoid copyright violation". Please follow the guidelines. --Fritz S. (Talk) 19:51, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello; I'm not quite sure what you are referring to. Can you please tell me? -- Where 21:03, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, sorry, I was in a little hurry. I was refering to your edits on A Little's Enough, Valkyrie Missile, and Start The Machine. The problem with copyvios is that they are still in the history, that's why these articles need to be deleted and rewritten from scratch instead of the copyrighted text being removed. --Fritz S. (Talk) 21:42, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again. I was acting based on the directions on WP:CP, which state "Revert the page to a non-copyrighted version if you can; The infringing text will remain in the page history for archival reasons unless the copyright holder asks the Wikimedia Foundation to remove it." I will not revert you until we come to an agreement on this, of course. Let me know what you think. Happy editing! -- Where 21:53, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Since the copyvio was there right from the first edit, I assumed that wouldn't apply since there was no previous non-copyrighted version to revert to... --Fritz S. (Talk) 21:55, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I do not believe that the versions that I had edited had any copyrighted material in them (I just double-checked this). Is it okay if I remove the copyvio notice?
I do not believe that the versions that I had edited had any copyrighted material in them (I just double-checked this). Is it okay if I remove the copyvio notice? -- Where 22:56, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I just thought that if all versions before the copyvio tag was added had the copyrighted text, the article would have to be deleted (after all, what would we need the whole copyvio procedure for if a simple edit would do?). But if you think it's okay with the copyvios left in the history, go ahead. However, since there's hardly any content in the articles anyway, could you maybe just redirect them to We Don't Need to Whisper (as I did in the temp versions)? (See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums#Track by track analysis and Talk:We Don't Need to Whisper). Otherwise I'd have to go over all of them again... --Fritz S. (Talk) 23:05, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay; done. One of the articles had some content, so I didn't make it into a redirect. Feel free to do so if you disagree. -- Where 23:10, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Basically an image use is fair when we are talking about the image, and not when we are talking about the person/place depicted on the image. This is just a very general rule of thumb, of course. Wikipedia:Fair use has the detailed Wikipedia guidelines on fair use of texts and images. Re:comment on Kylu's RfA

[edit]

Hi - excuse me, but it is virtually inconceivable to me that (1) I would even dream of deriding or attacking a great person like Kylu, and (2) that the time-honoured phrase is remotely sexist or derogatory. Comments about unique qualities of women are more often than not, compliments. Plus, given the "Ballistic support" I expressed for her, how did you have any reason to think my latter comment was a personal attack, implicit or otherwise?

And no, I will not refrain from making such comments because I do not desire to be politically correct. If such comments are some feminist's idea of an insult, tough. It is a shame that you think I was insulting her (its absolutely inconceivable to me!), but I'm sorry, that's your fault and maybe you need to take a pinch of salt with things. On Kylu's RFA, you mentioned that "Adminship needs a woman's touch." While you almost definately did not mean it as such, I perceived this remark as sexist and as an implicit personal attack. It would be greatly appreciated if you could could try to refrain from making comments that could be percieved like this in the future, so as to reduce wikiStrife. Discussion with Mário

[edit]

Snapshot of other talk

[edit]

Hello.

I was wondering what you meant by the above image. Do you mean that the Israelis and Palestinians should just drop their weapons and have a state together? Or are you advocating genocide? Or something else?

Thanks, -- Where 16:55, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your response. If I am interpreting you correctly, you feel that Arab-Israelis are currently treated as a subserviant people? And you thus feel that you think two wrongs make a right and that Jewish people in Israel/Palestine should be treated as inferiors? I am not sure if I am understanding you correctly. -- Where 17:21, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
In all honesty, I find your accusation that Arab-Israelis are being treated like the Jews were treated under the Nazi regime quite horrifying. While there is unfortunately some discrimination, Arab-Israelis are capable of voting and holding any type of job. And no Arab-Isrealis are being forcing into concentration camps and gassed. In fact, the only deliberate killings of Arab-Israelis that I can think of were by Jewish-Israeli terrorists, and these instances do not happen very often. However, I am relieved to find that this disagreement is just a disagreement on what is actually happening, rather than a disagreement on what should happen. We both agree in equality and human rights. I would recommend, however, that you add to the caption of the image on your page a clarification stating that you believe in equality; many people can and will interpret it quite differently. -- Where 17:58, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. There's no need to remove the picture; it isn't meant as an attack image, and you thus have every right to have it. I was just recommending that you point out that you are advocating equality, rather than genocide or reduced-citizenship for Jews. But that's just a suggestion, not a request. Your call. -- Where 19:00, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My talk

[edit]

I'm advocating an Arab Palestinian state, occupying the historical territories of Palestine, since the jewish occupation of the region is a recent fenomenon (it started in a massive scale after WWII) and the Israeli actions seem to follow a policy of total humiliation and annihilation of the Palestinian populations. Of course the Israelis can remain in the territory, with the same statute the so-called "Arab-Israelis" have in the current state of Israel. According to the Israelis, their status is perfectly dignus, so, there should be no problem. The images of the Operation Summer Rains triggered the inclusion of the map, along my knowledge of the conflict, which originated, in part, with some contacts I've made during my life with Palestinian diplomats and politicians and also with Israeli people, most notably, Ely Karmon, who is certainly among the most arrogan persons I've seen in my whole life. Mário 17:07, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

One of my greatest political concerns is the recognition of people's right to self determination. Palestinians had their own state before the Israeli occupation, so, their state should be recreated in its former location, the Palestinian part of the former Mandate for Palestine, which was inhabited by an absolute majority of arabs. Despite living in their own teritory, Arab-Israelis are treated as second-class citiziens, a little bit like jews in Nazi Germany, that's a total humiliation. Despite being immigrants, Israelis should be considered regular citizens in a Palestinian state, as I, being from a country of immigrants, have the biggest respect for immigrants. I'm not even discussing the brutality of Israeli actions in Palestine, I could speak of the countless massacres carried by the Israeli Defence Forces, the wall around Gaza, the assassination of Palestinian political leaders, the selective and deliberate destruction of Palestinian facilities, the disrespect for UN Resolutions, etc, etc. Concluding: jews left Palestine 18 centuries ago, so, it is an Arab territory under occupation, actually, occupation of territory is part of jewish doctrine. And that occupation is supported by the western governments, that's the only reason why Israel keeps existing. Mário 17:48, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps you don't recall, but Nobel laureate José Saramago was accused of anti-semitism after comparing the treatment of Palestinians to the holocaust. I knew that you would think the same, that's why I changed "a bit" to "a little bit", nonetheless you still misinterpreted the sentence, I'm sorry. And you also seem to reduce the whole discussion to the status of the Arab-Israelis, when I was speaking about the situation of the entire Palestinian population. Anyway, I'll remove the picture, you may delete it, along with my last User space edits, if you want. I know you are an admin. I actually supported you in your recent RfA, I just changed my name after that. The picture was more like a test, it didn't survive much longer. I thought I would have the same luck of the Israeli editors that use userboxes claiming their support to far-right parties, that support exactly the opposite of my picture. Thanks for this discussion. Cheers! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mário (talkcontribs)

I removed it. It's no big deal, I'm here with different intentions, mainly, improving my English (now I know that I should have written phenomenom instead of fenomenon). And I hope I wasn't uncivil, it wasn't my intention, I often have trouble finding the most appropriate words. Keep your good work! Cheers! Mário 19:26, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bug: Comment Localization Script and History Pages' Radio Buttons

[edit]

Hi. I believe I've found a problem with your comment localization script — I believe it disables some of the radio buttons on many (but not all) history pages. (Why not all? The difference may have something to do with spaces in an article's name. I'm not sure. This was suggested by another coder.) (This comment localization script being the culprit would also make sense given that radio buttons are right next to the time and date on a history page.)

I'm not a coder, so I can't point to particular code as the culprit, but I did a massively comprehensive trial by error by rebuilding my monobook from scratch and then pulling out and putting in modules -- it was when I pulled out the comment localization script that the error disappeared. I was going to provide you with full information here, but then realized that my debugging talk thread on the Scripts UserProject and my monobook.js' history screen probably provide all the proof and information you need.

I would be very happy to assist you in whatever capacity to diagnose and solve the problem, as I really enjoyed your script — it was incredibly convenient not to have to do the time conversion math in my head. — Mike (talk • contribs) 17:54, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks — I inserted your new code and gave it a test run on the pages where it was causing problems before, and no problems now. Thanks so much for such a quick turnaround! :-) And, hey, no problem on the code causing me grief -- especially when compared to the very cool convenience of not having to do time-code conversions in my head anymore. — Mike (talk • contribs) 19:55, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Where - first off, I never hold grudges. Secondly, after you clarified what you were thinking, my anger instantly went away. No, I do not have any negative impression of you at all. I have a rather large vein for pawky humor, and my recent comment to Kylu was simply an attempt to laugh at the irony of our respective misunderstandings. I was dead certain that you were talking about my remark as offensive to women, and it turned out to be a completely unexpected reason, which made me grin a lot. I was just letting Kylu in on the fun.

I guess the only thing I'd say is never take me without a pinch of salt when talking of non-Wikipedia business. You shouldn't worry so much about people's comments either, as issues between users here are entirely meaningless in both short and long run, and of no consequence to Wikipedia or the reason for our working here. Wherebot

[edit]

I would suggest that wherebot's reporting format is {{User:Wherebot/template|wiki-page|http://example.com}}, and people could improve on the reporting format without having to bug you to change it. I also have some an idea for the pages that have been deleted to not show on the list with the #ifexist parserfunction, but it would be much easier if the bot used the template. GeorgeMoney (talk) 22:14, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I guess you don't wanna do that, maybe you can atleast change it from [http://example.com http://example.com] to just http://example.com, which produce the same results, but less code:

Example 1: http://example.com [http://example.com http://example.com]

Example 2: http://example.com http://example.com

GeorgeMoney (talk) 10:41, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hmm.... I just saw that on the second part, it cuts off the http:// in the url.... oh well. Can you at least tell me why not to use the template? GeorgeMoney (talk) 10:43, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the delayed response. I'm worried that constantly subst'ing a template would increase server load, when I don't see much of a need for people to change the format. It also could look ugly if the format is changed, as then several different formats would be used on Wikipedia:Suspected copyright violations. What are your thoughts on the matter? -- Where 16:24, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I just think it's kind of ugly already. It looks very "scrambled", or for a better word, "unorganized". And, for the edit summaries of the bot, I think it shouldn't say the exact edit it's making, because that is unhelpful (e.g. five tildes don't subst in edit summaries, etc.. ). I think the summary should be changed from:
Robot: Automated text replacement (-'''Only remove this line if you want the bot to stop functioning''' +* Article -- [http://example.com example.com]. Reported at ~~~~~ '''
into:
Robot: Reporting copyvio: [[Article]] http://example.com

.

GeorgeMoney (talk) 08:59, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please be more careful with copyvios

[edit]

You deleted Maria Teresa, Grand Duchess of Luxembourg in July on the basis that there was a copyvio. All you actually had to do was delete the copyvio text, or if you couldn't tell which bits of the text were copyvios delete the text fully and replace it with a 2 line stub. Instead you deleted the entire page. As a result you

  • deleted the date of birth of the woman in question
  • deleted the standard template used in articles of that sort, with all the links in it
  • deleted non-copyvio information like the name of her grandson
  • deleted all the categories.

As a result of deleting the article rather than fixing it a bot then deleted all the directs to it, on the basis that the article they were redirecting to did not exist. Someone else then created a new article about the woman under a different name, which meant that the new article linked to none of the old links in other articles. Luckily it is an obscure topic or we could have had various users innocently starting articles on the same topic under the various different links to what had been redirect pages.

You don't delete pages with copyvios. You remove the copyvio or stub it. And you don't delete patiently non-copyvio stuff like dates of birth, categories and templates. I've had to spend ages tonight as an admin trying to untangle the mess, undelete the redirect pages, move pages around and dig around under the deleted page to salvage all the non-copyvio stuff you lost. I don't doubt the genuineness of your actions. Unfortunately they did have alkward consequences. But we all make mistakes and thankfully this one could be rectified. FearÉIREANN(caint) 22:50, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, I would like to express my regret that this incident took place; doubtlessly, I will take more care in the future. However, at the time the article was deleted it was like this; there was very little material that was not from here (there were no categories and there was no template at the time). That being said, it looks like there was a small amount (I was able to find 2 sentences) of non-copyvio material, and this is unfortunate. I must have saw that the vast majority of the article was a copyright violation and incorrectly assumed that the rest of it was also.
I am confused by your remark "you don't delete pages with copyvios," as Wikipedia:Copyright problems/Advice for admins seemed to say otherwise. Perhaps the page should be amended? I will not do any more work on WP:CP until we can reach an understanding on the appropriate way to deal with copyvios.
Thank you so much for telling me about this, and in such a polite way too! I really really appreciate it. -- Where 01:45, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential!
What's New?
In order to help proposed programs become specific enough to make into full-fledged programs, the In development section of the proposals page has been created. Proposals that are promising, but need to be organized in more detail are listed here. Please take a look at what is there, and help the proposals turn into programs.
To improve both the layout and text of the front page, in an attempt to clarify the image of Esperanza, the front page is going to have some redesigning take place. Please take your creative minds to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Front page redesign to brainstorm good ideas.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  1. In order to make sure all users who join Esperanza are welcomed, a list of volunteers who are willing to welcome new Esperanzians is at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Members#Esperanza_welcomers. Please add yourself if you are interested; we want to make sure all new Esperanza members are welcomed!
  2. The In development section of the proposals page has been created.
  3. Proposals page: Some proposals have been moved to the aforementioned "In development" section, some have been left as a proposal, and others have been archived. For those proposals that were a good idea but didn't necessarily constitute a program, General Esperanzial Actions has been created.
  4. Two small pieces of charter reform will be decided on in a straw poll at Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Governance. One involves filling the position of any councillors who may leave, the other involves reforming the charter.
  5. Until cooperation with the Kindness Campaign is better defined, it remains as a proposed program.
  6. There is a page for discussing the front page redesign.

Userbox Alignment

[edit]

Hi Where.

I was just wondering (because you're the first person I thought of that would know this),

Is it possible to align a userbox at the top of the page in the centre? I can do it Left and Right, but not Centre.

Thanx!

Wow, detective extraordinaire! How did you find my hidden sandbox? I have many *cough*one more you know! I see what you mean about it not being that clear (it's worse on mine with Essjay's theme, but he doesn't vote so unless he promotes me that won't be a problem), but it's supposed to follow the theme of my userpage. However, I might lighten the links - could you suggest a shade? Thanks. Please reply on my usertalk so I get a notification.Xyrael / 07:39, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for encourgement

[edit]

Dear Where, I was really very much encourged by your kind compliments-

I did read the no original research policy. I don't wanna argue over this however what my understanding on this policy is that everything we put in our article should be previously proven and mentioned - this is what i actually meant there is nothing new all is previously mentioned even on this wikipedia however i put together all this in kind of a story just like this below story -- which is uncontroversial but may be i am tellin' the story in a different way ... 1st Story was Islam was Hijacked and 2nd Story is Movie " The World " a God Almighty Production. I hope you get my point it's only a different way to narrate a story but nothing new is in there!

Movie “ The World “ a God Almighty Production.

Cast: Human Beings - Production Crew: Angels

Special Effects: Hurricanes, Quakes, Winds, Rains, Floods, lightening etc.

Writer/Director/Producer: God Almighty

Sponsored by : Facts & Reality

Posted at my blog and my own article

This Movie which is still underway however very close to its end and therefore so far has not been released to general public, however some of the people somehow were able to watch a few scenes as those were allowed by the producer for publicity purposes among the general public before the release of this Movie, All human beings have been assigned a role to play – It’s quite interesting. Though there’re plenty of extras in this Movie with very a few Stars Heroes among too many villains.

This Movie is full of violence, Sex and nudity, Abusive language, racism, Love & Hatred, Horror & Comedy, Wars including WW1. WW2. and WW3, with very a few scenes of Justice & Peace. A Scene in this movie which actually is at the End of this movie starts with couple of huge flying machines crashing into huge twin tower building, one of the most dramatic and exciting scenes of this movie to me --- I really appreciated the work of stuntmen in this scene who crashed the planes and also of those who were inside the twin tower building and jumping out from that building when it starts to collapse. Great Job of stuntmen in another flying machine (United 93) they were playing their role as the passengers very courageous. They actually did not deserve to die that way I had wished if Producer could change that Scene that eventually all of the passengers get control of that flying machine and were able to land safely. And most disturbing Scene to me was which was filmed in another part of the world (middle east) where a Fighter Flying Machine with laser guided missile hit a Building killing more than 50 Children (Qana-Lebanon) Actually those were the “Crew” (Angels) of this Movie and mistakenly killed however Producer wanted to include that Scene in the movie so that this Movie looks even more realistic. It really looked realistic instead work of computer animations. However The End is really going to be most exciting when two masters return under one flag and slogan and defeat evil and rule the world.

So far only the Producer knows the complete Story of this Movie – and only he can change the Story of this Movie., Movie’s Script was written in “Fate“ . This is how we can understand what actually “ Fate “ is. We’re only playing our roles as the characters of this Movie, and we have no control over the script of this movie and can not make any changes- Only Producer of this Movie has the right to make changes and it’s very rare when he does so.

Shuttle Columbia Disaster actually did not result from the mistake of anybody – Everybody including Astronauts and NASA played their role very well but the disaster actually had to happen as this was the requirement of that scene and to show to general public that Producer actually is in full control of this movie as the Director of movie as well – Nobody can change the story except the Producer . And Producer wants to End this Movie at the terms of his own.

I am still wondering What is my Character and role in this Movie. Never wanna be an “Extra” though

Thanks for encourgement

September Esperanza Newsletter

[edit]
Program Feature: Barnstar Brigade
Here in Wikipedia there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go unappreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors!
What's New?
September elections are upon us! Anyone wishing to be a part of the Advisory Council may list themselves as a candidate from 18 September until 24 September, with the voting taking place from 25 September to 30 September. Those who wish to help with the election staff should also list themselves!
Appreciation Week, a program currently in development, now has its own subpage! Share your good ideas on how to make it awesome there!
The Esperanza front page has been redesigned! Many thanks to all who worked hard on it.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  1. The proposals page has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  2. Since the program in development Appretiaion week is getting lots of good ideas, it now has its own subpage.
  3. The September 2006 Council elections will open for nominations on 18 September 2006. The voting will run from 25 September 2006 until 30 September 2006. If you wish to be a candidate or a member of the elections staff, please list yourself!
  4. The new Esperanza front page design has but put up - many thanks to all who worked on it!
  5. TangoTango has written a script for a bot that will list new members of Esperanza, which will help those who welcome new Esperanzains greatly!

Hi Where!. I know that I might seem as a complainer, but you're the only person I know (other than User:GeorgeMoney!) thanm could help me.

I happened to get a very nasty keylogger on my machine, and whenever I log on to wikipedia, there are many vandalism posts using my name. I have managed to use some kind of user script to prevent me from editing any pages (don't ask me... i found it on a wikipedia userpage), except the ones i say. So, is there any way to figure out all the vandal edits I have made?

Thanks..

Managed to revert some of my edits talking to an admin. Some... not all. Tyson Moore
I didn't want to bother you with a new message, so i'll put it right here.
You userpage is... behaving wierdly (if that's a word.) I'm kinda bored and I was experimenting on how userpages look at different resolutions. At anything lower than 1024x768, your userpage (as well as many others) look... funny.

wherebot for Wikiversity

[edit]

Would you be willing to put wherebot on Wikiversity? --JWSchmidt 17:04, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply. I "nominated" wherebot at Wikiversity:Bots/Status. I already mentioned wherebot to one of Wikiversity's two bureaucrats (Sebmol). --JWSchmidt 02:01, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I created an example for how Wherebot might function at Wikiversity, see v:User:Wherebot#Example. The example includes a page in the "Wikiversity:" namespace where the bot can list violations and the example shows a set of templates that editors can use for dealing with the violations according to Wikiversity deletion policy. --JWSchmidt 16:49, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sebmol approved wherebot for use at Wikiversity on the condition that I keep an eye on it. I am glad to do so. --JWSchmidt 17:19, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries in pywikipedia

[edit]

Howdy!

I recently noticed that Wherebot (talk · contribs) apparently uses the default "Wikipedia python library" edit summary when editing Wikipedia:Suspected copyright violations. To change that, before invoking the Page.put() method you should first call wikipedia.setAction("Hey! It's my edit summary!"). Also, to turn off marking edits as minor, use .put()'s optional parameter: Page.put(text,minorEdit=False). Cheers! —Misza13 22:03, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  • The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  • There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
  • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
  • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
  • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
  • Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.

Blockage!

[edit]

Hi Where! I was wondering if you could carry through and put a permanent ban on my school. Yes, this has been approved by me and my school V.P. (he has a Wikipedia account too... here.).

Could you use this template? Thanks.

If you don't want to... i could get another admin to do it....

Thanks again

Well, that Albania edit (and most other useful ones) were mine. I just couldn't be bothered to log in.

Yes, but if you block the IP, won't that let people login , but not allow anon. edits?
Tyson Moore es 02:01, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
But, see, we encourage people to sign up for user accounts, and we just want to make sure things like that don't happen. If they were logged in with a user account, then we wouldn't get blocked so often. We have already been blocked. We don't want other students to not be able to edit when it was one student that caused us to be blocked. Some students have already signed up for user accounts. So, if you wouldn't mind putting the block in. If we get a huge uproar from the students, then we can deal. I just think it would be beneficial.
Thanx so much.
