- Hi. I added a section to the original article in order to make use of this image, fixing thus this issue. Indeed, it would be a pity and a loss of information for the article if we had to remove it. Wget (talk) 00:41, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

Use of colon
[edit]Hi.
I've reviewed you change in Reboot (computing) and, judging from your contribution, I believe I should introduce you to MOS:COLON, a part of Wikipedia Manual of Style that provides guidelines on using colon (:) in articles. According to MOS:COLON, it is okay to capitalize the first letter of a sentence that comes after the colon.
Best regards,

Hi, please do not remove talk page messages from article talk pages, as you did here. See WP:TPO, and specially WP:ARCHIVENOTDELETE. Thanks - DVdm (talk) 15:06, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
- Then I assume the only way to close a topic is to close it with the
{{close}}
template? But proceeding that way won't remove the text from the talk page and the latter will still be cluttered with unneeded information. How am I supposed to do then? Wget (talk) 12:04, 27 May 2016 (UTC)
- There is no reason why old "talked text" should be removed from talk pages. It can remain there for future reference. The information is not unneeded and we are supposed to just leave it sitting there—see wp:Talk page guidelines. If you want to somehow let the world know that some request is acted upon, you can always add a remark that says so, and you start it with the template such as {{done}}. DVdm (talk) 10:37, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
- And what about the {{close}} template (or archives subpages) I mentioned above instead of using the {{done}} template? Wget (talk) 10:45, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
- The {{close}} template might discourage (or even prevent) other contibutors to make additional comments. Take a look at a few random talk pages to see how things are usually done. For instance talk:The Beatles/Archive 32, Talk:Square root, Talk:Yellow, and there's more . - DVdm (talk) 10:58, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
- Done. Thanks for your hints. I changed the related page accordingly. ;-) Wget (talk) 11:03, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
- Excellent! (See, if you had {{close}}d this, I wouldn't have been able to write this anymore ) - DVdm (talk) 11:06, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
- Done. Thanks for your hints. I changed the related page accordingly. ;-) Wget (talk) 11:03, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for August 16
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Plex (software), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page National Geographic. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Copyright problem: Global Conference on CyberSpace
[edit]Sorry, no, content was CC-BY-4.0. EVhotrodder (talk) 06:22, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
- @EVhotrodder. I'm sorry, but I don't understand, what's the problem? :) I see you merged the article I contributed to. This is great work, but I don't understand the copyright problem you mentioned here ^? Could you explain this to me? :) Wget (talk) 15:55, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Wget: Sorry, sorry, 100% my mistake... I had failed to note that [1] was CC-BY-4.0 and I got all excited thinking there was a problem to fix, and followed the directions for what to do when you think you spot content that might infringe someone's copyright. Which included leaving a note for the person who inserted the text in the first place. Then I dug a little further and found the CC-BY-4.0 line, after I'd already left the note here, so I edited it so as to not leave you with a total mystery what I was on about. And apparently failed. Anyway, I'm sorry for the newbie confusion on my part. I think some of what's left on the page needs some re-writing to get it into a more neutral POV, and I'll try to get to that. EVhotrodder (talk) 16:23, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
- Done @EVhotrodder Haha. Ok :P Thanks for this nice explanation ^^. Indeed I didn't receive the first notification so I was wondering what was happening with the edited message you left me :P Thanks for your work! :) Wget (talk) 16:27, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
