Johnny Logan - Eurovision Song
Hello, Johnny Logan did indeed write the winning song for Linda Martin in 1992. I know this cos I worked in HMV at that time plus it was all over the news. Also, check out his page on wikipedia. It is stated there too (not by me). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.45.91.245 (talk) 00:17, 2 April 2016 (UTC+1)
Hungary in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016
Hello!
I am one of the editors of the Hungarian Wikipedia in the topic of Eurovision Song Contest. Days ago I sent an e-mail to the PR-manager of the MTVA, our national broadcaster company, in which I asked them who will commentate the contest this year, and who will be our spokesperson. The PR-manager answered my e-mail, and informed me that Gábor Gundel Takács (as usual) will be the commentator, and Csilla Tatár (like last year, A Dal-host) will play the spokesperson role. The Duna national main channel will broadcast both the semi-finals, and the grand final, just like in 2015. I ask you, how can we implement these facts into the concerned articles, without any given sources? Or we must wait until May, and when we will see and hear it first on the television, to have an exact source. Can you help in this problem, please? Thanks in advance. Have a nice day! MrSilesian (talk) 15:57, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
- @MrSilesian: the action you have taken by emailing the broadcaster goes against original research. We must wait until a source is published to confirm such details. Emailing companies is not permitted and is strongly advised to be avoided. Wes Mouse ✒ 13:27, 14 April 2016 (UTC)
ESC 2017: Difference between revisions
Wesley, thanks for your edit on the ESC 2017 page, but I'd like to draw your attention to the difference between revisions, namely my most recent edit. Your first edit alluded to a line that wasn't included previously. You will see that in my edit I moved the line "the official list of participants will be released by the EBU towards the end of 2016:" to succeed the list of participating countries, as the list is expected to be incomplete until the EBU announce the final list.
As a compromise, I propose that the following be added after the provisional list of participating countries: "The official list of participating countries is expected to be announced by the EBU in late 2016." I look forward to hearing from you. Best, Bearnard O'Riain. (talk) 10:52, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
- Prior consensus was to have no other wording to follow the list of participating countries. Such prose wording should be before the bullet-point list of countries that have provisionally said they will participate. That is why I remove the line that you wrote in this edit. I would recommend having a look around the entire WikiProject Eurovision pages, including the format and layout guides, which you may find to be very useful. Wes Mouse ✒ 05:50, 16 April 2016 (UTC)
Reliable Sources
Hi there! Do you know when will the reliable sources and banned sources of the JESC and ESC wikipages be reviewed again? There are sites still banned when their ban supposedly expired last year. --83.52.112.131 (talk) 11:26, 16 April 2016 (UTC)
- Belgovision.com is banned by Wikipedia and is on the Wikimedia blacklist, so the chances of that being lifted is unlikely. ESCKaz was banned by the project due to content theft of our material; so they too are unlikely to have the ban lifted. ESC+Plus ban is only suppose to be reviewed on 1 September 2016; not sure why it shows the year as 2015. Wes Mouse ✒ 11:31, 16 April 2016 (UTC)

You seem to be someone who plays an important role in the creation and maintenance of this template. Someone asked on the Help Desk why he/she couldn't add a producer. I see "producer" in the list of parameters but only where each parameter is described. Is it okay to add "producer" to the parameters that can actually be used?— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 20:17, 4 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Vchimpanzee: the producer parameter comes under the "executive producer" parameter. So if there are more than one, then they would all be listed on that line. Wes Mouse ✒ 00:16, 5 May 2016 (UTC)
- I'll tell the person. Thanks.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 17:53, 5 May 2016 (UTC)
- I tested it and only one "executive producer" is allowed.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 17:55, 5 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Vchimpanzee: I have just had a look at the article Eurovision Song Contest's Greatest Hits which had multiple producers. And what we did on there was only list the exec producer in the infobox, and the others were mentioned within the article itself. If a new parameter is going to be required, then I would ask AxG who regularly updates the template; or if you are able to update it yourself, then feel free to do so. - I'm just helping the person who asked on the Help Desk, but I'll pass this along.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 16:17, 6 May 2016 (UTC)

Question
Hey Wes, so I've been experiencing some difficulty on the Era Istrefi page with several IP users changing her birthplace from Yugoslavia to Kosovo, even though she was born while Kosovo was apart of Yugoslavia. So I was just wondering, how can I request for the page to be protected from IP users? This has been going on for weeks, and it's extremely obnoxious, as myself and some other editors have left numerous notes as to why it should remain Yugoslavia, although these IP users don't care at all. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 10:11, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Jjj1238: to make a request for page protection, you will need to submit a request at WP:RFPP and state why you are asking for it to be protected. There may also be some ArbCom policy on Yugoslavia/Kosovo related issues, which IPs and registered users may be sanctioned. But I cannot remember off the top of my head which one it comes under. I do know that @Drmies: is on the committee over there, and hopefully he maybe able to assist on this matter. Wes Mouse ✒ 12:19, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
:)
I was wondering if you have any theories about what we can expect from the jury voting tonight considering the order in which the countries votes tonight. My theory is that at first some Western Country/Australia will take a lead and then by the end a Eastern Country, perhaps Russia will come back a bit at least. --BabbaQ (talk) 11:26, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
- I have reported the IP that is bothering you mate :)--BabbaQ (talk) 16:51, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks @BabbaQ:. They really are tarting to become a pain in the ass. Anyhow, I hope France win tonight, as I have a bet on them to win, and Russia to place in the top 4. Wes Mouse ✒ 16:53, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
- The IP has been blocked. You are welcome :)--BabbaQ (talk) 17:36, 14 May 2016 (UTC)

Wes Mouse ✒ 18:51, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
