Hi and thanks for the comment/warning. I have been on Wikipedia (in German, English and sometimes Spanish and French) under the username WernR, and I actually thought this new user might look more "official". Should I do it again with my usual username? --Ed@VID 12:26, 23 September 2015 (UTC)

If you want your username to have the name of the Institute in it, it would need to be written in the form of "username @ organization name" as described above. Deciding to use your previous name is fine too, but if you are going to make edits on behalf of the institute it is actually better to have a reference to that in your username. Whichever name you decide on, you may want to post that on the page of the name you are not using, so it clear which one you have decided to use.

Hi, I do work at VID (as an editor and translator) but this article on one of our senior (and most likeable) researchers was not paid for but done in my spare time because I thought that this man certainly deserves it. On another tangent, I thought I had changed my username already (to Ed@VID) but that may have been before being blocked, so I'll rephrase here. --Ed@VID 10:26, 25 September 2015 (UTC)

Point taken, though of course Ed could be a talking horse. Whinnying aside, I had said further up that I actually thought creating a new username might seem more "serious". All things considered, I guess it's best to appear under my age-old, and relatively traceable, handle of WernR. The Arcimboldo picture of the book lover hangs on the wall right in front of me BTW, and it was a real jolt to see it on your bio page
