Paid editing
[edit]Hello! saw this edit where you disclosed that you work for Wellendorf. Before you make anymore edits, you need to disclose as a paid editor on your user page. See WP:PAID. (The German Wikipedia and the English Wikipedia are administratively separate.) Also, do not edit Wellendorff directly, use talk page requests for all edits please. I will leave a note below with more information. You may also need to change your username, as Wedo 1893 is too generic. Possibly (talk) 09:21, 9 February 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Wedo1893. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Wedo1893. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Wedo1893|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. Do not edit further until you answer this message. Possibly (talk) 09:21, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
- Possibly, thank you for your feedback and the clear steps to be done. I have just created the user page and hope that disclosure is fine to be able to edit further in a transparent way --Wedo1893 (talk) 09:48, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks. I was looking at your edit request. How was the article in Welt produced, was it a promotional collaboration? Possibly (talk) 18:54, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
- The article in the WELT was written on the basis of a press release. Thereupon a journalist contacted us who wanted to report about it. --Wedo1893 (talk) 10:20, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks. On another note, please go to WP:RENAME and canage your name to something that does not look like a company name. English Wikipedia account names cannot generically refer to a company name, as that implies shared use. Possibly (talk) 10:46, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
- Oh, what's happening with the "verified" user on de.wikipedia.org...Benutzer:Wedo1893 when doing a global change? --Wedo1893 (talk) 13:35, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
- p.s.: fixed a typo in the reference link "handelszeitungch200503" on Talk:Wellendorff, seen by User:Vexations --Wedo1893 (talk) 13:40, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
- I have no idea about the account name on de.wikipedia. German and English wikiepdia have separate policies. On English Wikipedia we do not allow "verified"company accounts. An account has to indicate that it belongs to an individual person or it risks being blocked.Possibly (talk) 20:43, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you again for the feedback, I'll try to figure out the impact of the then to be done global account - name change and the steps to be done. --Wedo1893 (talk) 22:24, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
- Hello Possibly, yesterday the renaming was done by Maire and so my account is a 'Full Disclosure' and I hope that helps to get the english version of Wellendorff updated as proposed on Talk:Wellendorff. Regards, --Claudia Wellendorff (talk) 07:34, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks. Someone will eventually look at your suggestions. Most of what you suggested is not really acceptable as it is non-neutral product advertising. Don't get your hopes up. Possibly (talk) 07:36, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
