AfD nomination of PJ Phillips

[edit]

I have nominated PJ Phillips, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PJ Phillips. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Give me some examples of less notable musicians than him, and I will decide if they are less notable. If they have good references and they are notable, then they are more notable than Mr. Phillips. I'm sorry, but I cannot find a single third party reference aside from Myspace. A musician has to be notable to be on Wikipedia. As I stated on the deletion page, he fails both WP:MUSIC and WP:BIO. Please read both of these before creating more articles of this nature. Cheers, ṜέđṃάяķvюĨїήīṣŢ Drop me a line 18:17, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Webcheckhound: the decision about whether or not to delete the article is not down to Redmarkviolinist but the community at large. A discussion will take place on this page here and it will last five days. During that time, editors will expect to see evidence of notability. In practical terms, this means adding links to the article of newspaper articles that mention PJ Phillips. I had a quick look a few minutes ago and found one from This is London. There may be more. It is too eartly at this stage to predict the outcome of the deletion discussion but there are several editors who specialize in "rescuing" articles from deletion and they may well help too.

If you get stuck, contact me on my user page. --ROGER DAVIES talk 19:06, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Roger, I googled 'PJ Phillips bass' also variations 'P.J. Phillips bass' 'PJ Phillips Then Jerico' 'PJ Phillips Liesegang' etc. and got these - any good?

There is also an interview from Bassist Magazine (UK Monthly Musicians mag that's now stopped publishing) that I have a hard copy of but can't find online.

Many Thanks Regards Webcheckhound (talk) 20:04, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You need to cite sources. That link explains how. --ROGER DAVIES talk 19:31, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption

[edit]

I'm sorry if I appeared a little harsh. When I searched PJ Phillips, I could find no notable references. However, I would like to help you out by adopting you. You already had a few questions for me, and I would be willing to address them at User:Redmarkviolinist/VirtualClassroom/Webcheckhound if you'd like. Drop me a note on my talk page and I'll help you out. ṜέđṃάяķvюĨїήīṣŢ Drop me a line 16:22, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
