Please do not delete content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Butlins, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. If, as your username suggests, you are working for Butlins you should not be editing that page as it is a conflict of interest. Wikipedia should not be used for advertising or promotion.--Charles (talk) 15:56, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit]If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Butlins, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Jeni (talk) 16:59, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
Legal threats
[edit]Please could you confirm if your recent edit summaries are legal threats or not? Thanks! Jeni (talk) 17:35, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
Firstly please forgive me, I don't fully know how these talk pages work or how to reply so I hope the edit feature is correct.
I am very alarmed that you have chosen to view my request for Wiki's Legal Dept's contact details as a "Threat" I simply wish to hand this whole ediiting matter over to our respective Legal teams for resolution. To clarify, I simply wish to correct the tone used about our company and belive as per Wiki's guildines this is not a conflict of interest and that we do have a right to edit the tone. Therfore we wish to progress this dispute for further resolution. There are no threats being made just an offer to resolve the dispute over the tone that your site currently presents our company in.
- Disputes over content are normally resolved on the article talkpage (click the "discussion" tab). If you believe any of the content to be inaccurate you can make your case there. You most certainly do not have a "right" to control the "tone" of the article and as you clearly have a conflict of interest you should not be editing it anyway.--Charles (talk) 14:45, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 09:21, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.
A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.
You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
- Adding
{{unblock-un|your new username here}}
on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page. - At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
- Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
- Adding
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Connormah (talk) 00:26, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
