User talk:Wayland/2003
The minor edits: When I first began to edit Wikipedia (in December 2003) I read something somewhere which suggested that the way to edit was to (a) become a registered user & (b) check the box which routinely marks everything as a minor edit. Because I was brand new to Wikipedia I followed these instructions and so the first couple of months of edits I did (apart from ones where I forgot to log in) are all marked as "minor". Then I got a note from Quercus Robur telling me that it was wrong to leave all these edits marked as minor, so I unchecked the box. Looking back on it, I feel stupid to have taken the instructions as real. The instructions I read must have been someone's vandalism, I suppose. This is a matter of great embarrassment to me. (See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Please_do_not_bite_the_newcomers).
Anyway, here are the messages I've been sent:

Hi there was already an article on BBC 7 - so I've made your article redirect to that one. Secretlondon 19:39, Dec 27, 2003 (UTC)
Hi, Wayland. As we already have an article at Old-time radio, I suggest you add your content at Old Time Radio to that first article, then make Old Time Radio into a redirect there. Cheers, -- Infrogmation 17:23, 30 Dec 2003 (UTC)
