Welcome to Wikipedia! No need to apologize for making a mistake. Sometimes it's good to be bold and adding something yourself. I make mistakes all the time, little typos here or there, and sometimes I do things that other people completely disagree with! And in those cases, it's good to use the talk pages (as you did in reaching out to my user talk page). Are you interested in editing tropical cyclones, I take it? If so, there's a whole group of editors, working together under the tropical cyclone Wikiproject. There are thousands of articles, just like the current cyclone season.
