User talk:Walker Slake
A belated welcome!
[edit]Here's wishing you a belated welcome to Wikipedia, Walker Slake. I see that you've already been around a while and wanted to thank you for your contributions. Though you seem to have been successful in finding your way around, you may benefit from following some of the links below, which help editors get the most out of Wikipedia:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page, consult Wikipedia:Questions, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there.
Again, welcome! Dougweller (talk) 07:03, 16 January 2013 (UTC)

citations
[edit]Hello, the guide to citations is WP:CITE, although if you just provide a link to the reliably published source that you used, someone will come along and make it pretty.
providing sources is one of the primary content requirements.-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 09:15, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
works in progress
[edit]You can also create pages like User talk:Walker Slake/Turkish street food and use them as a draft space to work up an article from "raw" condition, not fit for public viewing, until you have it ready for prime time. You can play in your sandboxes and see how the Wiki mark up and such work and place general ideas that you do not yet have sources for. Then when it is ready, the page can be moved into regular public article space.-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 01:46, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
