It is not a question of interpretation, and there is no need for a secondary source. The reverted version says "The Arab countries declared war on the newly formed State of Israel", with no source given. The primary source can only be the actual Declaration. The Declaration says what it says: this article is not the place to argue its interpretation; otherwise one opens the whole can of worms of the Israel-Palestine conflict.
