Wikipedia Guidelines & You

[edit]

I noticed your edit to the Muslim controversies template, and your edit summary here [1]. Making a slight spelling mistake is no reason to shout and yell about it (E.g. using exlaimation marks)

Please take the time to read Wikipedia:Civility, Wikipedia:Etiquette and Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers before you decide to start snapping at people for making simple mistakes. It happens. There is no need for you to be rude about it.

After reading your talk page, it appears that this is not your first time being overly and needlessly rude to other contributors after they make simple mistakes.

Nobody is perfect. You are not perfect. So stop being abusive to people over the slightest errors.

Thank you. 195.194.150.129 (talk) 08:11, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

sorry... i didn't really consider that that was snapping or being rude, nor that an exclamation mark was shouting and yelling. i thought it was quite innocuous, actually. i am familiar with the pages you mention. thanks for yr concern tho. tomasz. 11:37, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
your own talk page is... "interesting" in this regard. and a lot of your edit summaries, for that matter (the edits that you bothered supplying one for, that is.) and yes, i understand that you're behind an IP shared by a large amount of people. but if i were in that situation, i'd probably consider registering a hactual account before throwing stones at people over simple exclamation marks. tomasz. 11:41, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 01:12, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I've reading through many of the Wu-Tang articles and came across this one. I noticed that the list is extensive and doesn't have many references to verify that the artists listed are truly affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan. In my WP experience, I've noticed that people will often add information to articles like this that aren't often patrolled to try and promote themselves or another group. I also noticed that you've obviously put a lot of time into the article, are a well established editor, seem competent, and seem to have a fair amount of knowledge of hip-hop. That being the case, I wanted to come and see what you think of the current state of the article and if you think it needs an overhaul. In short, I'd usually just clear out content that I can't verify but instead of doing all that work, I'd see if I can use you to verify the info given. Michael Tugendhat

[edit]

I was in the process of compiling a biography of Michael Tugendhat when some random Googling shows that you've already got a very creditable version at User:W guice/sandbox/Michael Tugendhat. I think what you have is ready for mainspace: it amply demonstrates notability and its well sourced and without BLP concerns. Rather than pointlessly repeat your good work, I propose to move your sandbox article to the mainspace and add in the additional stuff that I've found (he's Christopher Tugendhat's brother, for example). -- Finlay McWalterTalk 16:26, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WP Albums in the Signpost

[edit]

"WikiProject Report" would like to focus on WikiProject Albums for a Signpost article. This is an excellent opportunity to draw attention to your efforts and attract new members to the project. Would you be willing to participate in an interview? If so, here are the questions for the interview. Just add your response below each question and feel free to skip any questions that you don't feel comfortable answering. Other editors will also have an opportunity to respond to the interview questions. If you know anyone else who would like to participate in the interview, please share this with them. Have a great day. -Mabeenot (talk) 00:10, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Definitive Swim has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A search for reliable, secondary sources reveals an insufficient amount of significant coverage. This article fails Wikipedia's notability guidelines for albums.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Neelix (talk) 15:00, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thanks for tagging this for notability back in 2008. It's still tagged 5 years later. You may want to take it to the Notability Notceboard or AfD to get it resolved. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 08:58, 30 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Clipping., you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page My Bloody Valentine (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
