Front covers of The Bintang
[edit]I've removed this section from Bukit Bintang Boys' Secondary School. Non-free images are generally not permitted to be used in galleries as you did here. I've tagged all the images as orphaned, making them subject to deletion. Please do not restore the gallery. If you have questions, ask. Thank you, --Hammersoft (talk) 21:05, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- I've created a category for the school for the images you uploaded on Commons. See Commons:Category:Bukit Bintang Boys' Secondary School. --Hammersoft (talk) 15:09, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
Yeh, you were being asked to add a fair use, not get permission to use the image. Ive added the fair use so there should be no further problems regarding deletion. Salavat (talk) 05:18, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
The Bintang covers
[edit]- Pretty much what Obsidian Soul has said. A fair use gallery like that is never going to survive. I would say try and follow Obsidian Soul's advice and get an OTRS ticket or just let them be deleted. Salavat (talk) 04:57, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
- I just re-removed the images from Bukit Bintang Boys' Secondary School, and re-tagged them as orphaned. Per WP:NFG, the use of non-free images in a gallery as you have done here is generally not supported. Further, this gallery seriously encroaches on WP:NFCC #3, which implores us to keep non-free image use to a minimum. They also fail WP:NFCC #8, as using 19 images to convey what the book looks like each year is wholly unnecessary and insignificant to the article as a whole. Getting an OTRS ticket will be essentially impossible, unless the school itself agrees to license all those covers under a free license. There is no adequate rationale that can be created for the use of these images in a gallery such as this. I've retagged the images as orphaned, and they should shortly be deleted. I applaud your efforts and enthusiasm in working on this article. You have uploaded a great many images you have taken to help illustrate this subject. I certainly do not mean to discourage you. --Hammersoft (talk) 15:15, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
- okay then, i shall stop with the magazine covers. i have to agree that it does not meet WP:NFCC #8. WHZhang (talk) 07:37, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
