Sorcim
[edit]Sorry if my comments came across as accusatory or aggressive- I really do appreciate the effort you put into the Sorcim article (and others). You'll note I'm working on many early computer company articles, and could use help :). The problem is we need to have sources where this material was published by some 3rd party. Perhaps you can help point me in the direction of where such publications might exist. HupHollandHup (talk) 20:41, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
--WFeigenson (talk) 18:54, 18 August 2010 (UTC) Don't know how to respond to your message - hope this gets to you.
I included published quotes wherever possible, but most of what we all wrote about has never been published anywhere. We all thought that first-hand accounts would add valuable insights into the history of this once-important company. Shouldn't there be a place for this kind of primary research - even if it's not published?
- It is just not allowed on Wikipedia, sorry. Perhaps the place is your blog. You could make a case that your blog qualifies as a self-published source about itself with regards to Sorcim - as described here: WP:SPS. You could ask about it here: Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard HupHollandHup (talk) 21:36, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
--WFeigenson (talk) 21:49, 19 August 2010 (UTC) Ah, thanks. That helps. I'll start working on it. I've actually written several posts about Sorcim on my blog - it would be fun to add more. I'll check out the other resources as well. -walt
- Let me know if you need any help. To clarify - before you put in a lot of work writing about Sorcim on your blog, with the intention of using that blog later as a source for the article, I suggest you ask on this noticeboard - Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard - to make sure your blog would be considered a reliable (though self-published) source on this topic.
